During Avery's original conviction (for the rape case), he allegedly told a fellow inmate that he planned to build a torture chamber for young women when he was released. He told a different inmate that the best way to dispose of a body was probably to burn it.
- Bullet found in garage actually came from the one above Steve Avery's bed.
- Additional DNA from Avery found on the RAV4 that came from a non-blood source (more difficult to plant).
- Brendan Dassey's interview with his original attorney's investigator actually ended up revealing a more detailed, graphic story about what happened. Dassey appears to be less spoon-fed his responses when you read the entire transcript.
- In the phone call between Dassey and his mother, documentary edits out the parts where Dassey tells her that Avery molested him and his cousins in the past. Dassey's mom responds with "why didn't you tell me, I could have done something, we would have left," (which is the part heard in the documentary).
- Teresa once arrived on the Avery property for a different job (not sure how long before her disappearance this was) and Avery was wearing only a towel; she told her employer she didn't want to return because Avery "really creeped her out." This was excluded for being too inflammatory (the trial or the documentary I'm not sure).
- Avery called Teresa that day three times from *67 before making the original call at 4:35 that she would of course not answer.
- Avery called AutoTrader several times requesting "that girl who you sent last time."
- A rivet believed to have belonged to Teresa's jeans were found in the burn barrel.
- Perhaps most damning of all, Teresa's cell phone and palm pilot were also found in the burn barrel (these could have been planted as well but they were never mentioned in the documentary).
