the low end. southside chi
There was evidence it was just circumstantial, not very good and planted/corrupted, my point was that if they had investigated other people there would likely be some circumstantial evidence against them whether they did it or not which would make Steven look even less guilty.
MeH people get lucked up on circumstantial evidence the time
I saw there wasn't any because ether crime scene was corrupted

Yo..
Steven's lawyers ate the prosecution and poked holes in every shred of shady evidence presented but there were at least a couple jurors who were plants and the fukkin judge was a piece of shyt too. The only thing he allowed them to get thrown out was the sexual assault shyt which should have cleared Brenden but then they allowed the state to continue on with the bedroom theory during his trial

Something we gotta keep in mind brehs.

I guess I've learned it from watching this, listening to Season 1 of Serial, and just watching documentaries in general. shyt is inevitably going to be one sided and our views will be skewed, so there may be damning portions of the case that may have been omitted from the documentary to fit the narrative (Manitowoc is corrupt, they hate the Averys, Steve is innocent). Not saying Steven is guilty, because I think he isn't, but still, as we research, share opinions, and hear more info it's important to keep that in mind.

you are so right... a quick google search changed my mind on this case... HE IS GUILTY. THIS WASN'T IN THE DOCUMENTARY, BUT SHE HAD COMPLAINED ABOUT HIM HARRASSING HER BEFORE.

I have watched Spotlight, and The Big Short. I honestly think anything is possible as far as how high corruption will go. The means in which the powers at be can do things to maintain their lifestyles.

Manitowoc PD aint shyt clearly. They were small time police, so when a rape of a high profile woman occurred, they blamed it on the local sexual deviant (Avery). No fukks given, didn't bother to investigate the case. It was only after the actual dude went about raping two other women and Steven Avery was like "check the DNA again".

These type of Police Departments exist all over the US. Everyone is related to everyone especially in them small towns. Too much power leads to corruption.

Again, why was the Blood vial evidence tampered with?

Why was her voicemail messages erased?

The crooked ass judge let that slide, denied the defenses motion to exclude that from the trial. No follow-up or repercussions for secured evidence being tampered with :snoop:
Nah I think all of that was included, the only issue that came up was the FBI developing that test on the fly to test for the chemical preservative in the blood, which the defense wanted thrown out because pre-trial they were told there was no test and it wouldn't be included. I was reading that reporter with the glasses twitter timeline since she's been answering questions the past few weeks and she said the jury was shown the same video we saw of the evidence packet being inspected with the broken seals and the punctured blood sample.

Kratz was the one who said it, so take that how you will, but still it definitely brought more doubt about his innocence in my mind than before.

Just finished...and this was definitely in my mind. Like I'd love to know more about the history of the Avery family vs. Manitowoc and why exactly there's this perceived feud beyond what was stated in the doc.

With that said...there were way too many holes in that case for it to actually hold up, though. Holy shyt. Brenden's first case was pathetic, but the flawless revisit didn't earn him another shot?

the tampered blood vial with the syringe hole? Bruhhh.

Yea I was shocked that he didn't get another shot after that innocence group from Chicago that deals with youth cases picked up his case. Does anyone know if the appeal to the Supreme Court has already been submitted and decided(one way or the other for a new trial) yet?

Right!!! And then the FBI was like we don't do that EDTA (probably got that wrong) test anymore it's gonna take us hella long to get results back. All of a sudden they get results back just before closing statements. How perfect :beli:

The shyt went from "We don't do these tests anymore so we're gonna need like 3-4 months to develop and perform it:patrice:" to it being done within 3 days.

So Coburn is calling in the car before she's even reported missing:dwillhuh:

The defense points out that someone had access to her phone after her disappearance and deleted voicemails, which means that it had to be someone close to her to know her password, and it's deemed irrelevant because they say the defense is trying to say she's still alive:dwillhuh:

And right after that, the ex-boyfriend says he guessed her password and was able to access her account because he figured it would be one her sister's birthdays and no one blinks an eye:dwillhuh:
