If they left shyt out of the doc then that's not right but I still don't think Brenden was involved even if Steven did have something to do with it. Plus, @klutch2381 you say that that particular conversation is damning and it sounds damning but there are other calls to Brenden with his mother where he tells her he was never in the house, never even saw the woman,etc.. the one where she says you gotta tell me what happened and then later in the doc his mother is even saying that she believes Steven is innocent.

They aren't bright. The mother isn't really any smarter than Brenden is and the police and the justice system took advantage of that.

Also by the way there no way you can think brendon is innocent and Steven is guilty.

How far was his and stevens houses? A football field a apart? I've heard gunshots from blocks away, I've heard screams from blocks away. You think if all of that murdering was happening brendon was going to hear absolutely nothing? And see nothing, when he said that evening he was helping steven out with some tasks.

It's either they are both guilty or they are both innocent, but they were together that night.

Also the fact that in the first rape charge, steven had over 20 alibis and he still was charged. That's mind blowing.

If you think you're lonely now, ohhh girl...
@klutch2381 i mean look at the DNA woman's testimony.
come on man

We're looking at a documentary edited to illicit a certain response from the viewer. I'm just mindful of that. I think it was Strang that said when someone is framed the conspirators don't normally think the framed is innocent, but that they're guilty. Can it be so that he was framed and he did actually do it? Yeah, that's what I think. I also don't think the documentary is trying to establish his innocence, but more so how when there's an extreme amount of reasonable doubt -- the judicial system can still find individuals guilty, and it's not supposed to work that way.

I love this documentary. What really makes the full conspiracy theory (i.e. Steve didn't kill her, someone else did and set him up) so appealing in this situation is that it seems more reasonable than the alternative (Steve killed her with 40 million dollars coming to him and after he'd just got outta prison after 18 years). The former is analytical, precise, cold, calculating, you can look at it and say, "Oh, okay. It makes sense." The latter is impulsive, senseless, and reckless. We don't wanna believe the world is like that, so we naturally gravitate towards the first perspective. Unfortunately, the world is often senseless. :jbhmm:

Haven't finished watching, on episode 6 but why didn't the lawyers try to get this shyt moved to a different state. I know they got it moved to the next County but with this high profile of a case there is no way he could get a fair trial.

fukk, oj couldn't get a fair trial either but he had millions and a double digit staff working for him

I'm watching this shyt now. Only on episode 7. Thanks brehs for always putting ya boy on that piff shyt :salute:

The shyt that's so frustrating to me is how much folks lie and try to fudge the truth on the stand. How many times does the prosecutions witness go, "Um I'm not sure if I said that," WHEN THEIR STATEMENTS ON RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM. They can't admit the simplest shyt.

Steve's lawyers: So when a person drinks water, their mouth gets wet right?
Prosecution witness: I'm not sure. I would have to be there for myself.
Lawyer: :upsetfavre: So let me get this straight, when a liquid touches a surface, it doesn't leave it wet?
Prosecution witness: Um - possibly
Lawyer: So when steve took a drink of water, was there liquid in his mouth.
Prosecution witness: Yes
Lawyer: So then his mouth was wet - correct?
Prosecution witness: I believe so

Me: :bustback::bustback::bustback::bustback::bustback:

I feel so sorry for Steve's parents man. His mom is a fukkn trooper. Hats off to her :salute:

I want to send her fukkn gift or something man. She's so strong. Every time I look at her I can see how much pain she's feeling on the inside. You can tell she loves her child. You can't teach that. You can't fake that. That's just genuine "you are my everything" love.

"I believe so"

"That's my understanding"

Notice what they decide, because they are making conscious decisions, notice what they decide to say "yes" and "that's correct" too. These phrases are the devil throughout this documentary.

Nah this shyt is uber frustrating my g. Every time someone is asked a direct question, you can tell they're trying to think 2 steps ahead of Steven's lawyer in order to decide if they should say "yes" or "possibly"
