The same people hating Blackish would have hated the Cosby show had they been grown in the 80’s

So many clips have been posted on here that are funny from the show ..

There is a dynamic of the old school black vs the new school black vs the corporate black vs the hood black in the show that makes it interesting and worth watching imo
I hated Cosby too
shyt was lame and unfunny

Fukk Roseanbe now but back then I'd rather watch her

blackish is a great show and representation of how I grew up despite living in a bad spot :what:

thats like her showing me a cool filipino sitcom instead of a slum show to show me how she grew up but then saying "oh mae mae, you just showin me this so i dont think you is poor, i know you have pesos'

nikka think with your brain
You didn’t need to tell me that blackish represents you

The fact that you have a “paag” and look for black shows to make her comfortable already told me that you’re a cornball

ofcourse that show represents you :mjlol:

Sometimes I wonder what would be an acceptable depiction of Black folks to y’all.

There is definitely a subset of rich Black ppl that are corny and always trying their best to hold onto their Blackness even though their lives do not reflect how most Black ppl are living. That’s the whole point of shows like this. Like, that’s the joke haha.

According to the half the Coli if you’re not hood you’re not black and God forbid that you’re uncool or like something uncool then you’re a Cac ...

There are so many black people like the ones in these shows in real life that it’s crazy to be honest and many mixed families also ... so the shows are realistic

I do wish that there were a couple non mixed rich or upper middle class black families on TV that were funny and wholesome to give kids something to aspire to ...

Looks like black ish but with a richer family. Why redo the same concept? Can't he come up with new ideas?

Black people: We don't have any representation and when we do it's all negative stereotypes:damn:

Also black people: That show about the well off black family with no negative stereotypes is mad corny. Only white people want to watch shyt like that.:francis:
Good point, but to be fair....

Many black shows in the 90s still managed to show well of blacks with no stereotypes while still feeling black. Look at Martin and Fresh Prince. They felt authentic.

Something has always felt off about newer shows like Blackish.
