:dwillhuh: I’m confused. Can u point out to me where he said he wanted to play in the NFL again? All I saw was a video of him working out

Listen man stop playing stupid. I’m not one of these fools against kaep, I’m glad he got his money and have no problem with him playing again. Kaep has been putting in work off the field with his time and money, I’m not denying that shyt. But please tell me what denied work means? Denied from who because there’s plenty of jobs he can get. He’s being denied from the only profession and job he wants right now.

Water For Life Project

NEW YORK, USA, 17 November 2006 – Nearly 2 million children die each year due to unsafe water and inadequate sanitation. Last night at the United Nations, American rap star Jay-Z premiered his new video diary, ‘Water For Life’, which captures his journey into areas affected by the ongoing global water crisis.

In a partnership with MTV and the UN, Jay-Z toured several developing countries, meeting with young people who do not have access to safe water. He travelled with some of these children along the same roads they take every day to fetch water for their families and schools.

“It is unbelievable that someone so young could be doing that every single day,” he said.

UNICEF Executive Director Ann M. Veneman spoke at the premiere, emphasizing the need for action on this issue: “By increasing access to clean water and proper sanitation, we will not only save young lives, we will also be improving the quality of these lives – giving children a chance to fulfil their potential,” said Ms. Veneman.

The rapper Jay-Z has established an educational trust for the two children of Sean Bell, the unarmed man shot and killed by the police in November 2006 on the day he was to be married, allhiphop.com reported. Last month the three policemen tried for Mr. Bell’s death were acquitted of all charges by a New York judge. Mr. Bell’s fiancée, Nicole Paultre Bell, has been appearing in “I Will Not Lose,” an advertising campaign for Rocawear, a clothing company founded by Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter.

The pair met in the Big Apple to outline how to better police officers' relationships within black and brown communities, which follows the recent grand jury decision in the Eric Garner case. they talked about developing legislation to reform the state's justice system to respond to the near daily protests over a Staten Island grand jury's decision last week not to indict Officer Daniel Pantaleo for Garner's chokehold death in July.

Jay-Z, Meek Mill Launch ‘The Avengers’ of Criminal Justice Reform Organizations

The Reform Alliance aims to reduce the number of people affected by parole and probation law by 1 million over the next five years. “This [the number of people currently on parole or probation] is two-thirds of the population in the criminal justice system, and yet it’s been the area that’s least focused on [by reform efforts],” Rubin explained.

Roc Nation Offers Legal Counsel to Phoenix Family Held at Gunpoint By Police.

A philanthropic arm of Jay-Z’s entertainment company Roc Nation has offered to provide legal support for a Phoenix couple that accused police of using excessive force and threatening to shoot them in an incident caught on video.

Team ROC has reached out to the family to provide legal support, call for termination of the police officers and “ensure the well-being of the children,” said Didier Morais, a PR spokesperson for the organization.

Team ROC has secured high-profile attorney Alex Spiro to join the family’s legal team pro-bono and plans on filing against one of the officers for child neglect, Morais said.

Again, you are confusing Philanthropy with Social Causes or bringing awareness to social injustices and such.

The donations to the Katrina Fund and Water is cool, but that is not 20+ years of work for social causes. From what it looks like, jay has been doing work for social causes very recently within the past 4-5 years.

So we giving him props for T shirts tho? Hes the same guy who made the "Occupy Wall Street" Shirts and donated none of the proceeds to the causes.

I have no stake in this matter, but lets be real. If you trained your entire life to be something, you probably wouldn't want to do anything else either especially if the reason you lost your gig was over some bs

Right so no qoute then? :unimpressed:I’m pretty sure he loves football and has been doing those workout drills for most of his life but that doesn’t mean he actually wants and plans on playing in the league again. And I could be wrong he might actually want to play again but he’s never said that so I’m not gonna put words in his mouth

There's room for philanthorpy and bringing awareness to social injustices, it's not one or the other and if being public about your philanthropy is bringing awareness to social causes even better. I wouldn't go as far to say it's been 20 years, but it's been more than the 4 or 5 your pointing to. Sean Bell didn't get killed 4 or 5 years ago, maybe then is when he started paying more attention to social causes.

I didn't even post about him bailing out Baltimore protesters and supporting protesters in Ferguson, or would be considered philanthropy to you? I see you focused on t-shirts but skipped over where he met with NYC governor to speak on criminal justice reform or creating the criminal justice reform organizations like someone else pointed out.

Yes, I did. The narrative has shifted to who's really black or not. We should all take Ancestry DNA tests to prove if we can speak out about black issues. You can't speak out on black issues unless you're 99.99% black like Uncle Ruckus.
People kill me with that shyt, you think a cop won’t hesitate to shoot him dead in the street in broad daylight cause he ain’t black enough?:jbhmm:

I low-key feel bad about the fact that you wasted 45 minutes of your day putting together this post, only to prove the following:

A: Jay-Z's philanthropic efforts primarily entail him writing tax deductible checks and posing for photos.

B: Even if this is what Jay Z considers to be "actionable items", he sure in the fukk didn't need to team up with the NFL to continue doing it.
