I know yall love Montez but dude isnt nearly ready for a singles run, let alone a championship reign
Exactly. He has 13 TV singles matches and four multi-man matches (all Royal Rumbles) in his three-year career on the main roster. And he has only won 6 of those singles matches.

He isn't even ready to dethrone Austin Theory.

So how many more months or years do you think Roman should hold the title before Montez takes it off him? Because Montez has about as little momentum as a singles wrestler can possibly have short of living in catering.

This

I hate how he was eliminated in the Rumble...but, I didn't expect him to be in the final four

Right now, the tag team division needs SOMETHING and IMO the Street Profits and Imperium the best two tag teams in the E not named the Usos

I’m not even mad at what happened at rumble

I think the story was supposed to highlight Judgement Day getting rid of the field and building heat with Edges return being the pay off.

It was more about what they were doing and less about what he didn’t do, which is why commentary wasn't playing into it at all (opposite of what they’re doing with Chelsea Green)

Sucks he was fodder for that but it is what it is. With a good showing at chamber which he’s rumored to be in, I don’t think many people will be stressed over his rumble elimination unless they just want to be upset with something. My boy is a ways away from WWE champion tho

I agree with op about Montez 100%.. if I want someone charismatic to represent the E on family feud, the kids choice awards, good morning America, jimmy Fallon, etc, im picking Montez over Cody 11 out of 10 times.. Cody is a star, but he hasn't shown yet that he has the chops or charisma or it factor to be able to rep the E on that John cena/Austin/etc level..

Sami has been the hottest face in wrestling for the past few months and actually got Roman heel reactions again.. he should def get his moment and payoff at mania by winning the WWE Title, but then have bobby or randy or whoever win MITB and immediately cash in on him and beat him so that Cody can in turn face them and have his own moment at summerslam..

However, the Bloodline is Jey and Roman's story, Roman can't beat Jey clean and Roman knows it,, but Roman has gaslighted Jey to think the opposite over the past 2 years, and Jey should ultimately be the one to take the Universal Title off of Roman and end his historic reign as the Tribal Chief.. I don't think this should happen until Summerslam after Roman's reign surpasses 1,000 days either though..

Cody is going to take the title off Roman, most likely.
Jey Uso SHOULD be the one to do it.

But as I've laid out before, I can buy the Mania story of "Guy who was never meant to be main event (Cody) takes on Guy who had a birthright to main event status once he started down his path (Roman)"

My argument for Cody is that he’s the closest successor to Cena that WWE has had since Cena’s departure. They’ve been searching for someone to slide into spot and finally found someone. He’s already missed what, 9 months with injury? Can’t waste time with him to give someone less than him a “moment,” because unfortunately Sami is not that guy. We love him. I love him. You won’t find a bigger Sami supporter than me.. let’s just be honest though, there’s no crossover appeal. None. You’re not gonna see him on Fallon or the ESPY’s and go “I wanna watch whatever that guy is on”

He’s just not the guy you want carrying the company for the next decade. Cody is that guy, and every resource should be put into making him the absolute biggest star possible. If that means he’s the one to dethrone Roman, so be it.. if it’s at the detriment of Sami getting a feel good moment, too bad. They’ll benefit for the next 10 years from pushing the Cody agenda as heavily as possible. Give him the Cena stimulus. Sorry. Y’all gon be sick of him come November but it is what it is. Sami deserves a run and I hope he gets one. He’s gonna have to wait tho my brothers

Kids love Cody. That's who is going to get the rub to beat Roman. You're going to get sick of him just like your parents were of McDonald's because you dragged them there every week to get the new Kids Meal toy. He didn't agree to comeback to WWE with the goal of winning the title without getting reassurances he would win the title.

I still think Cody is getting the win at Mania. But on the slim chance he doesn't. Then right hand Jey could be an option but that leaves you until Summerslam to pop that balloon.

The real problem post Roman is going to be the fact the belts will split and start getting passed around. It won't really elevate most and water down many.

I LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX!
I'm not saying that it's going to happen, but I wouldn't be surprised if Roman retained at Mania this year. It seems like since Cody rose up from below that stage last year at Mania, he has been coined to be the one to dethrone Roman, but I remember a similar scenario happening a few years ago that the IWC thought was going to happen and then WWE hit us with the :troll: instead.

IWC (2017): "Roman just beat The Undertaker, and Brock just beat Goldberg for the title. Looks like it's going to be Brock vs. Roman at next year's WrestleMania, with Roman going over."
WWE: (2018): "Nah. :mjlol:"
Brock-Lesnar-Roman-Reigns-WrestleMania-34-1024x576.jpeg

IWC (2022): "Cody just had a successful debut and Roman just went over Brock for the title. Looks like it's going to be Roman vs. Cody at next year's WrestleMania, with Cody going over."
WWE (2023): "Oh, word? :mjpls:"

Always expect the unexpected, brehs.
