I would have definitely watched if it wasnt 10 o'clock on a friday and I wasnt out doing quasi deviant things that i cannot immediately recall. I also wasnt 100% sure he was returning either. I will definitely be watching Wednesday :hubie:

I had to stream illegally just to watch it live

And just these two examples is why its an amazing number. Its lame trying to spin this. Even if you have WWE stock yall to broke to have enough where it matters.

You just described the AEW audience :manny:

Also you would have to be pretty dumb to think he wasn't when they named the 2nd episode of their new show something special for a week & ran in a bigger building in Chicago than the one their running for a PPV in the same place like 3 weeks later. The stuff started leaking at the end of July & had a month of build up, pretending it was all speculation & nobody knew is hilarious.

Which is why the viewership numbers matched high Dynamite’s. The YouTube video of the debut is at 6 million views or near it and Twitter video is at 5.8 million.

Even with crossover viewership that still amounts to at least 4 million interested people who didn’t know for sure he was coming.

The marks are acting like 1.1 is a monumental number. :mjlol:

Let’s not act like 1.4, 1.5 wasn’t expected.

Idk.. if the marks are truly being sincere maybe their expectations for Punk just weren’t that great. :ld:

Next thing you know the marks will pretend like dynamite isn’t expected to get their best rating ever this Wednesday lol.

It's not monumental but a new show on its second episode doing half of SD which has been at its time for decades off the rumor of somebody coming is good, saying otherwise is just hate

Nobody pulled 1.4-1.5 because nobody for sure knew he was going to be there until earlier that same day. Now if they get that 1.4-1.5 bc they're advertising him on Wed you'll say it's a failure because it didn't happen on Friday.

I think ratings still are somewhat important since they are based on the percentage of people who still subscribe to cable, YouTube TV, and Hulu TV.

I don't think it's fair to use social data unless you just wanted confirmation people missed Punk. It's high across the board because he hasn't been seen in almost a decade, it'd be like Cena leaving for 7 years with little to no movies and then coming back "unannounced".

That pop he had a few weeks ago would be nothing in comparison, probably even bigger than last Friday's.
