No offense, but that's simply not true. I once lost 40lbs in 2 1/2 months from running 5 miles(1100 burn cals) on the elliptical alone.:yeshrug:. Went from 28 bf to 18 bf.

40lbs of what is the question :troll:

which beckons what i just said, 40lbs of what? clearly not pure fat

thus why cardio is inefficient for fat loss and doesnt teach you actual healthy eating and living habits

I do what works for me? :manny:

I feel you though. Those big muscles dudes at the gym tells me all the time I shouldnt be lifting heavy cause I'm pretty massive and broad. Just play ball and run.

if you gained the weight back, it didnt work :leon:

i used to think like you coming from an athletic background in wrestling where cardio is "king" but the point of wrestling isnt fat loss, its endurance and technique and explosion etc

all things that have zero to do with fat loss

I gained it back cause I got complacent. My ego got big from the love I was getting and stopped doing what I was doing previously.

Can a strong heart/good cardio help with your lifts? (especially in the recovery).

im seriously doubting if hockey is a form of cardio that will either help my aesthetics or not.

its kind of hiit training but that for like 3x20 minutes without an (good) opportunity to eat or drink for nutrition, i dont know if that will burn muscle too much...

i want it to be known that doing cardio isnt "bad" by anymeans and it creates a deficit

it just doesnt preserve muscle, so using it in place of lifting doesnt work

if you lift and can still do cardio do so

the issues to be careful of is overestimating how much of a deficit your cardio creates and then end up "eating out of it" and not being in a deficit at all(which is common)

id assume the minimum calories burned during cardio sessions and never go over a 300-500 cal dietary deficit

lifting still constant

Usain Bolt and yohann blake do upper body exercises. Those are the world's two fastest men.

Sent from my EVO 4G LTE

I'm talking about lifting heavy. Do they bench? Shoulder press? Doubt it, especially Blake.

lol. exactly. Blake has those stretch marks on his shoulders meaning he does alot of upper body workouts. Sprinters nowadays try to work every muscle, this isn't the Carl Lewis era anymore. Every sprinter who is doing sub 10 times is brolic.

a friend of mine who follows athletics told me most sprinters do upper body work and some of it has to do with having uperbody mass. he told me it helps them remain more stable and helps with their balance while performing. he said to light on top and they'll tend to wobble left and right in their lane and lose time. don't know how true it is though...

Ive been going w/o breakfast for years. I have done 30 mile bike rides w/no breakfast. You dont need breakfast.

In a diet empty calories are the enemy. As is feelings of hunger. Breakfast has a much bigger insulin response than other meals because of the timing- so it makes you hungry again not too long after you eat it. And dude's breakfast has zero nutritional value. It might not be for dude but I say he tries it for like a month... just replace breakfast w/a cup of coffee to start (preferably black... get some cheap insta-shyt and make it at home)... if he doesn't like it or it doesn't work, cool but at least then he can speak on it w/authority

And I done told yall nikkas bout the full diet break about 30 times now.

Great article. Good information without getting too technical.

A big lesson I've learned and one of his points in the article is getting with a routine that works long-term, and having that as one of the design goals. Basically you need to always be thinking "is this something I can do for the rest of my damn life", makes compliance that much easier. shyt it's like anything in life, it ain't really about the results, it's the journey you take and being present in whatever you're doing.

Been on this LG-style diet six months, and I'm convinced I wouldn't have got these results without my cheat day  Now you telling me I can put in a two week break too? :ehh: Well my dude I guess I'm long overdue for one right now, and next break would fit just in time for Christmas :youngsabo:

Yep

I have cut a few times

Had the most success with this break shyt, and dude's suggestion to cut volume by like 1/3-1/2 in the cut

Like you said, it comes down to consistency and sanity. 1500kcal days aren't bad when you can get that from 2 nice big meals and know a sanity day (theres nothing cheating about it) is right around the corner. And weeks of cutting aren't bad when you know a decent break is coming

I done read a lot of shyt... this dude Lyle Mcdonald man, one of the few dudes whose "advice" actually helped me out. Might have to fukk around and show him some love w/a couple of purchases.
