Its no suprise that HIV is running rampant through our community. You couldnt and wouldnt have all this downlow activity if there was less overt homophobia.

It's not saying that 50% of new infections are among young black men. It's says 50% of new infections in "YOUNG" people, are young black men. There is a big difference. You gotta pay attention to what these articles are saying. They give you the numbers to paint a certain picture to you that isn't entirely true.

If there is an agenda it's always to paint black people in a bad light. These numbers are estimated in the first place. Who do you think the "estimations" assume has aids the most?

It's not just Black homosexuals, though. Look at the new infection rate for heterosexual Black women. They aren't all getting it from downlow people, since there just aren't enough Black gays to account for all those infections (which is an absurd suggestion anyway.) It also detracts from the seriousness of the problem. Proper sexual hygiene/contraception/etc. are as much a problem in poorer areas with less education as they are among the underground gay culture. Wherever the disease finds ways to spread, it can't do so without people in general not taking care of themselves. There are larger issues, common to both gays and heterosexuals, that need to be addressed in the Black community, that have both socioeconomic and cultural aspects.

well if gay men are not the main spreaders of AIDS, explain to me why lesbian HIV transmission is almost non-existent.

There are more gay black men in America than there are black women living with aids. Im sure in some rare cases heterosexual men are getting it from women. But 9 times out of 10 if a man contracts HIV it's coming from anal penetration or drugs.

Of course it's mostly men spreading it, including to women. I'm saying that it's not all gay men, and looking at it that way obscures the broader problem of sexual education/hygiene.

Those aren't negligible numbers. 1 in 4 new HIV cases in the US are women, and of those, 2 out of 3 are Black women. That's a frightening stat and cannot be accounted for solely by DL men.
