Ehhh, I only watch NBCSN for the live hockey. All the pre-game and post-game stuff is an after thought to me. Now I want to see how (or if) USA is going to transition from L&O:SVU/NCIS/Modern Family reruns to showing live sports. I think they can do it, but they need to committ to a plan and not show "Random Game of the Week".
and that's with Monday and Wednesday nights being off-limits because of RAW and NXT

If I were a nhl fan I would be tight

A lot of rumors that NHL will leave NBC for FOX/ESPN in their new TV deal. So this move might be an indication that NBC realizes that they might lose the NHL and bulk of their NBCSN programming. So it makes sense to shift sports programming to USA and strengthen it as a network since it sub numbers are good and it’s a long standing network.

For nhl fans I hope that’s the case. Because outside the nhl network. There is no coverage of nhl

Not surprised. shyt was a graveyard and worthless besides hockey. I wouldn't be surprised if CBS sports Network was next.. it's even deader.

They basically had nothing but live sports (Premier League, NHL, some auto racing, etc). And I guess they cable networks weren't paying enough to carry the network, and the live sports rights were too expensive to make it work. I love Premier League but you can't sell that many ads during the games. NHL is kind of niche too. They never tried to do any studio shows or anything.

I don't watch a lot of NHL but at least I know that on a weeknight I could tune to NBCSN and probably catch a hockey game if nothing else was on. With ESPN and FOX you don't know that because they have to much other stuff. Unless we are all convinced that everything is going to be streaming from now on. ESPN+ will have to go up in price if they keep adding all this shyt.

And I know its hard to compete with Sportcenter but I still don't get why either Fox Sports or NBCSports won't try out a highlight show just for the hell of it. It doesn't cost much to produce at all.
Not much can compete with the name brand of SC and I think you have to pay for highlight packages now. Can't remember what league sold their highlight package to but it was why for some sports you only get like 2 highlights and then the score/stats

If a lot of it is moving to USA, which is a basic cable channel, why are people upset? Am I missing something?

It is impossible to move a lot of it to USA. You think USA is going to be showing A10 basketball on the weekends? Nightly Stanley Cup playoff coverage?h
They already have a streaming service already out and have already put sports events behind the paywall. The direction they're going in is very clear.

I'd assume they would but nvm I forgot how much money SVU makes them :francis:
