if you believe Stern will come down on flopping then you must believe SOHH is gonna come back stronger than ever
How about they just stop rewarding the floppers and only call legit fouls? It would be better if they went the other way and let em play instead of blowing the whistle ever 2 minutes....Personally I'd like the NBA to implement something similar to the delay of game call where after 2 obvious flops the other team is rewarded a technical foul shot.

Its up to the refs to set the limits. Thats why they're on the court. Nobody flops in a pickup games...
but vlade isn't deadvlade divac is rolling over in his grave
Basically. The NBA seems to come out say this every few years when te whining from all the people crying about flopping gets too loud. People only have a problem with "flopping" when it negatively effects the team that they're rooting for. Personally, I think that the onus should be on the referees to not get fooled by floppers. The players are just playing the game. Here's a story from '08 saying that they were going to fine floppers.if you believe Stern will come down on flopping then you must believe SOHH is gonna come back stronger than ever

Fines will be imposed for clear cases of flopping - NBA - ESPN
It's tough in the heat of the game at fast pace. I like the review option. Also, it shouldn't be so easy to take a charge. Take away the flop, the charge, and bring back the handcheck, much better bball
the review option is no better tho...what if that flop fouls your superstar out or your most efficient 3pt/ft shooter and you lose by 1-3pts?? it'll be the equivalent of the NFL when the refs mess up a call and the next day they issue a "oops, our bad"...does nothing to effect the game, just a "My bad"
Edit: my bad if i interpreted that wrongly...do you mean review during the game or afterwards??
Just because their job isn't easy doesn't mean that referees shouldn't be held accountable for not doing their job. If it was easy anybody could walk off of the street and do it. These guys are supposed to be the best yet theyre hardly ever held accountable. A big reason that players flop is because they've come to realize that a lot of refs are lazy and they do a lot of assuming. If referees did less assuming and only called things that they actually saw instead of making calls based on how players react, then the whole flopping issue would take care of itself. It's tough in the heat of the game at fast pace. During the game. It would be dope too. Tony Parker pumping his fist, then his face going from to when the charge is reversed while preparing to shoot freethrows
I don't see what's so hard about calling what you see instead of assuming, making calls based on reactions. It's funny, people are constantly crying about the referees and blaming the outcome of games on bad calls, yet they don't want to hold the referees accountable. Yes, I think that an NBA ref should be able to judge a flop from a real foul in real time. Most of the time I can tell the difference between a foul and flop watching on TV and I haven't spent 1 hour training to be a ref. It's hard enough to catch a foul, but yet you want them to be able to judge if the player is flopping in real time? I would hate to be a student in your class, you'd be having me compete with a computer
