Like I said in the other thread. The NBA should avoid the NFL if possible. It’s such a better product that it makes watching basketball difficult sometimes. Move the season to not overlap with the NFL at all.

The product is trash and since they likely can’t fix that, the only other solution is to remove any competition. This really only applies to the US, which is probably the main focus of these viewership/ratings discussions.

I have to imagine there are no good metrics on global viewership since timezones make watching NBA games in other countries a pain in the ass. Who is waking up at 4am to watch Brandon Miller miss 12 threes.

The nba needs a few new teams to showcase

It’s weird but the current teams that are televised mostly are boring depending on the match up.

Like I’m generally not watching the clippers or nuggets and they seem to be on TV a lot

Yeah this is pretty horrible advice :mjlol:

Only so many teams can get the late night slot on the doubleheader so you’re bound to see the same rotation

Is it?

The NBA dominates ratings on non-NFL days, and their ratings spike after the NFL season ends. Days that used be to scared to the NBA (i.e. Christmas) are long gone. Last year the Chiefs v Raiders pulled faaaaar more viewers than all 5 or 6 NBA games that day.....combined. If you want ratings to go up, then there is are two obvious answers....

1. Avoid the competition thats killing viewership and overall interest....the NFL. Its only going to get worse for them with an 18 game season coming, and potentially more Friday/Saturday night games.
2. Make the games more impactful....shorten the season by alot and remove all back to backs.

I don’t think you’re paying attention

The NFL isn’t decreasing they’re offerings they’re expanding

18 game season with The SB happening in February as compared to January previously with additional emphasis placed on Christmas lineup. In the next 10 years I wouldn’t surprised if two extra games were added along with an additional bye. Even after The NFL season is over who is to say they won’t look into a league sponsored women’s league or flag football in the spring? A sound business plan doesn’t hinge upon working around your competition as much as ensuring you have the best possible product.

Are you having a stroke, I literally just said the NFL is expanding to 18 games. They have also started pushing into Saturday nights as well. Which is why overlapping with the NFL is going to be even more problematic from a ratings perspective. And then you brought up Christmas like I didn’t just mention that :mjlol:

And why are you talking about the SB being in Feb like that’s recent? It’s been in Feb for damn near 20 years now.

And finally nobody will give a fukk about flag football or a women’s league. People barely gave a fukk about the XFL. Your posts read like an early version of ChatGPT.

I laid it out why “Run & Hide” isn’t an ideal business model and you spent your post doing everything but supporting your position. Water would find a way to spoil under your advisement :deadrose:

“Honestly I would just wait until The NFL releases their schedule and just work around that every year.”

The shareholders would push this p*ssy nikka out the window. :deadrose:

Some of yall gotta come to a conclusion that there isn’t much room left in your life for the NBA and that’s ok. That’s life.

The NFL season isn't changing dummy....

Even if they add an 18th game in 6 years, they will just cut preseason down to 2 games. Which was ALWAYS the proposed plan for the past two decades since they started pushing for an 18 game season. Football will basically start and end at the same time as its always been...that was literally one of the selling points the owners had to NFLPA.
