Has anyone whos ever been to a game live complained about this stuff... And ironically these are the people the nba should cater to first, the people who BUY TICKETS and are at the game. The league just made an issue over a non problem... Fans eat that shyt up before the game starts, helps to get the crowd going

I'm telling ya'll Stern is just trolling and its working. This is a big topic of discussion on sports talk radio today.:heh:

"games have routinely taken five minutes or longer to begin after the starting lineups were announced."
NBA puts pregame routines on 90-second clock - ESPN

The horror!

I'm curious about why this thread is so long. What is there to say about pre-game rituals, skits, pitty-pat, hand jive, & powder tossing?
Maybe y'all got off topic?
Ok, I'll skim the thread now.

(Delonte West kirked out on the Mavs earlier this week & is on punishment. HE might have trouble stashing his guns & pills & cray-cray during the 90 seconds allowed.

You nikkas are not getting what I'm saying. Arenas can do whatever they want. They have DJs, their own entertainment dept, etc. I'm talking big time marketing like commercials and shyt. I'm just saying at half time shows or those heavily produced intros, you rarely see a hip-hop artist. It's almost always rock music or some other corny shyt.

So they used the Shook Ones instrumental one time for 15 seconds in a playoffs promo and all of a sudden these cacs who run the NBA are down with hip-hop? :usure:

Bruh, Kanye's "Amazing" was the theme for the entire playoffs one year.

Man these guys are full of shyt. You know what they do after player introductions in NBA games, go to commercial. Last time i checked the NBA and networks made money on those commercials. I highly doubt they are going to give that up. If this goes through all thats going to happen is after introductions the players are gonna be standing around doing nothing while they wait for the tv timeout to end.

you're retarded if you think the nba is only going to market to hip hop fan base. ages 5 to 55 watch the nba, just because its a mostly black man's league doesn't mean all the fans are...

Well the NBA began the re-branding campaign around 2004-2005, which was around the time when the "Kobe Rape Case" and "Malice in the Palace" happened.. That was right around the time they started airing those "NBA Cares" segments... I agree, there isn't much of a image problem now, but at the time when they began the re-branding, there was a lot of negative attention on the NBA...

yeah around 05-08 the league got quietly clean

shyt, even lebron's "decision" was used to promote the boys and girls club

fukk, didnt the suns do a commericial stating they didnt like people saying "that's gay" against homophobia? :heh:

I'm saying that the cacs shouldn't be allowed to sever the proverbial imbillical cord that is hip-hop and the precious black stillborn baby that is the NBA. That's it. Nothing more, nothing less. Again, two 30 second commercials. :wow: that's some huge, consistent marketing.
