Because Camby wasn't old school low post big the 90s needed. He could run pretty fast, dribble the ball, defend multiple positions and still score.

My post wasn't meant to shyt on 90s players or anything, just his style of play was more suited for what he have today, instead of 90s bigs that had to bang in the paint most of the time.

Camby was giving Tim Duncan problems when Camby played for the Knicks, but teams didn't know what to do with him cause he was too skinny for a traditional 7 footer.

Clint Capela comes to mind when it comes to a player in today's league Camby would produce like.

centers have less value than ever, how would this era make more sense for Camby
Because he would be encouraged and developed to be more instead of pigeonholed to certain things. In this era he would be a high value center.

Marcus Camby :camby:

He was built for this era, not the 90s big man era. If he gets drafted in 2016, instead of 1996, he would be like a lite version of AD.
The Raptors tried using him at SF he played a bit of it his first two years in the league. It makes you wonder if he received continual development and didn’t have such a funky shot.

Camby wasnt anywhere near as advanced offensively as AD has grown to be. Camby was more Rudy Gobert than he was AD. The Gobert comparison might even be a little generous.

Those stretch fours and fives of previous eras would have ate. I'm looking directly at guys like Derrick Coleman, Detlef Schrempf, Terry Cummings, Cliff Robinson, Rasheed Wallace, Rik Smits, etc.

All those aforementioned guys would average 18-20 ppg or more in today's NBA.
