I still think the LeBron/Ohio St. thing is a publicity thing. I feel that if he seriously was considering going to college he probably would've picked a more competitive team to go to. I'm sure he would've wanted to go to a squad that would have him compete against Melo

Like Ohio State don't rank in the Top 10 almost every year.

Hell, people were looking at Greg Oden like a in and a lifetime prospect and he chose OSU (along with mike Conley).

Also the best player in this years draft:

lol you know you guys can google this. typed in kobe duke

http://espn.go.com/blog/collegebasketballnation/post/_/id/87467/kobe-wouldve-picked-unc-over-duke

Defying urban legend that he was Duke-bound, had he gone to college instead of the NBA straight out of high school, Bryant said he was leaning toward North Carolina. "I love [Duke Coach Mike Krzyzewski]," Bryant said. "The truth has to come out."

Why North Carolina? Vince Carter, a Tar Heel, was one of the top guards in the country at the time. "I want to play against him, every single day," Bryant said.
A young bean & vince :ohhh::banderas:

I always thought Louisville was Bron's pick if went. Remember hearing that a while ago

That would be correct. However, nobody ever seriously recruited him after his freshman year in HS, as it was pretty obvious he wasn't going to college. The whole thing about him going to Ohio State was some shyt made up by Nike around the time Thad Matta had resurrected the program ('06-'07). He couldn't say he was going to Louisville because they're an adidas school. Jim O'Brien was under investigation for NCAA violations and eventually fired at the time that Lebron would've been starting college. Not to mention the team was terrible at the time. No way he would've ended up there.

Ehhh.

My dude used to train D whenever he was back home here in Louisville, so I actually got to speak to him pretty regularly. He really only chose OSU because Matta was the only coach from an upper echelon program that guaranteed him he would be the number one scoring option from jump as a freshman. Matta always used that as his main selling point. He would've gone to Louisville or UNC had he been guaranteed a starting spot, and he felt Kentucky was prioritizing certain recruits that played his position over him (Booker, Mudiay, Rashad Vaughn), and didn't want to wait around. He pretty much wanted to go somewhere where he could be the focal point, showcase his skills, and get to the league after one year.
