Defying urban legend that he was Duke-bound, had he gone to college instead of the NBA straight out of high school, Bryant said he was leaning toward North Carolina. "I love [Duke Coach Mike Krzyzewski]," Bryant said. "The truth has to come out."
Why North Carolina? Vince Carter, a Tar Heel, was one of the top guards in the country at the time. "I want to play against him, every single day," Bryant said.

There really is no college to mention, there was an article s couple weeks back from right before Game 1 of the Finals that retold the story of how Bron wound up on the Oakland Soldiers AAU team. They were quoting coaches in that story that said they were just watching Bron to be in awe of him because they knew he was never going to college, and this was as a HS soph. Bron didnt take college visits or nothing, he was getting hooked up with so much shyt he would have never made it past the NCAA anyway.
