I can explain it easily. Some ppl are casual gamers. They see everyone is hyped for a game, so they buy it solely based on the current hype surrounding the title. Then they want to pick up the game and be experts at it with in 5mins. If you have to learn new moves, its more of a choir than it is fun, so the game sucks at that point.
These types of gamers will NEVER be satisfied because while they are upset with the changes, they also want the game to be different everytime they play it. Like, if basketball or any sport game can be recreated each year
Finally, the thing that even slows down some of the hardcore basketball gamers. Tweaks. When any 2K releases, it plays like it plays. Then millions of gamers get online, some gamers like say a J.Breezy will spend literally 50+ hours just working on his jumper like if that nikka is goin to the gym
His boys talkin bout goin out, he's like naw. "I gotta get better, I gotta get better" and nikkaz like that will not like the fact that there cheese tactics don't work anymore. But others will find new cheats, and then all the super hardcores comeback to fukk the game up for the rest of us.
Then 2K fixes a lot of those exploits, and by February the current game of 2K will play like

And that was the first year they had the ESPN license and really started to incorporate the things I suggested during the beta periods. Basically making the game fluid and appear more like you'd see it on TV.
You lost all credibilitywhen you said 2k5 was a beast...this is one of...if not THE...worst 2k games ever. If I remember right...this is the one where they went all out in graphics and fukked up the game play. The player size to court ratio was ALL fukked up...the dunks were floaty and u realistic as hell...they had they new "hop to the left...hop to the right" gay azz defense...the rims looked like they were 8 ft tall....the changed a lot of the camera views and tried to force us to use the close to the court side view that sucked and there was not broadcast view I think....it was either this one or 2k4...regardless...this was not one of the better ones.
2k1....2k3....2k6 for 360...2k7...2k8....2k11...are the best 2k games IMO.

Even if EA says fukk live again, it's not gonna fukking matter with all the money they making from Madden and shyt. It'll probably be just a little hit to them, but say if 2k lost their nba game, that whole company would flop. It kinda shows the importance of the title to each company.

U might be right...but even then...I think it took a couple years to get the game back right...I remember getting back into 2k when 2k6 dropped for the Xbox 360 shortly after launch. I remember playing online leagues with 2k3 and playing religiously...then was disappointed for 2 straight years lol

The 2K series has transcended from being just one of gaming's best sporting games to one of the best games period. 2K sells an absurd amount. Its up there with Madden in sales numbers and given the popularity gulf between football and basketball here domestically, that is amazing. 2K is going to have to fukk up on an unseen level to lose this dominance.

NBA Live 10 was solid and Elite 11 was solid as well. The game got scrapped because of all the bad press because of the bynum video, not because it was a bad game.
Obviously Jordan being included in NBA 2K11 did not help either.
