Those ratings are not good
Why aren't they good?

Weren't you the same poster who tagged me in the NBA viewership about the problem with the TV ratings, yet here the NBA tallied their highest Christmas day ratings in 5 years (even up by 84% from last season), so tell me what is the problem? The NBA is shooting more 3s than ever, a product that you swore nobody wanted to watch yet the ratings are going up not down - so tell me what is the problem?

If the NFL was on CBS or Fox instead of Netflix...those NBA numbers would be down.

Everyone can use rabbit ears if you don't have cable nor streaming (outside local markets yesterday). I don't understand barrier to entry for Christmas games by the NFL.
This is facts but fukk goodell and the nfl being greedy fukks

Yup. I was flipping through the channels trying to find the NFL games. I found out it was on Netflix and decided to watch the NBA instead.

Christmas is on a Thursday next year so i fully expect the NFL to have a 3 game slate to try and further shyt on the nba. If they were smart they would have games on FOX, CBS and NBC (If they're not broadcasting any NBA Christmas games next year.

Hell honestly, i would try and do a 4 game Christmas day slate and the NBA did a 6 game slate.

Imagine if this was the NBA/NFL Christmas day slate next year. (Based on next years NFL Schedules)

9:00 AM - ABC - Packers at Steelers
9:30 AM - NBC - Pacers at Knicks
12:00 - ABC - Cavs at Bucks
12:30 - CBS - Lions at Ravens
2:30 - ABC - Mavs at Celtics
3:30 - FOX - Kansas City at Dallas
5:00 - ABC - Lakers at Warriors
7:00 - NBC - Bengals at Bills
8:00 - ABC - Houston at Minnesota
10:00 - NBC - Suns at Denver
10:30 - Rams at 49ers

Tell me who says no to this?

TheColi told me that nobody wanted to watch today's NBA because it's non-stop 3-pt shooting, that's why the ratings were declining.

Do any of y'all experts wanna tell me how the TV ratings increased that much if nobody wants to watch 3s like y'all claimed? The TV ratings should be going down according to y'all logic.

I’d expect more from two of the biggest stars of the last 15 years. These are not good ratings.

What makes them "not good"? What would be a good number given the fragmented viewership with streaming? What would be a good number given that cable is dying and nearly every medium has suffered from similar drops?

You told me that the NBA viewership was declining, yet how could that be if the TV ratings increased from 84% from last season?

You didn't tell me anything.

The NFL has always had higher TV ratings than the NBA. Always. I must've reiterated about 100x now that the NFL is part of this country's identity. It's got nothing to do with the actual quality of play. Folks will watch the NFL, no matter what. The overwhelming consensus is the NBA had better games than the NFL did yesterday, yet more people would've watched the NFL.

I want you to tell me why you're so hung up on TV ratings as if they reflect the quality of play?
