nhl still made 5.3 billion in revenue this past year

the players are getting raped. The players were actually making more 20 plus years ago

joe sakic was making 16.5 million in 1997, jaromir jago made 17.4 million in 1999

no one is seeing that bread anymore
I don't follow the NHL much, so I have to ask you: Is this because the players were forced to re-structure the CBA after the NHL ended up on the Outdoor Life Network for almost no money back in the '00s, and they haven't had a chance to really re-structure now that the NHL is making more out of their TV deals?

And why don't the players strike?

Again no cap in soccer
The NBA has max contracts
I’m saying though salary cap or whatever the nba wouldn’t have the richest folks. The only reason the salary cap is as high as it is is because that Disney deal kicking in I think it was 8 or 9 billy iirc

uh yeah they would. No max salary a guy like lebron would be getting 100 mill plus per year, just that the non stars would suffer

In the 1997-98 season, the NBA salary cap was roughly $27 million dollars. No player on the Bulls made over $5 million that season, except for Michael Jordan, who earned just north of $33 million.

Soccer players contracts are after tax whereas the NBA is before tax. Also you posted Haaland and Salah well what about Mbappe, Messi, Neymar, Ronaldo??

What? Since when? For sure not in the premier league. Maybe in la Liga but I doubt that. Messi and CR7 got done in court for tax issues in Spain. Although it could be related to endorsements but I never heard anything about their contracts being after taxes that sounds wrong to me.

I mean you gotta be like 6’6 to have a real shot, most dudes will never have a real shot at getting to the NBA.

Imma get my kids in soccer early, I’m not a tall dude but I’m agile and built like a sprinter/boxer, I think I woulda been good at soccer if I was exposed to it early on. By high school I knew I didn’t have the frame to make to the NFL. I was a beast but injury prone. Those big ass D lineman would kill me, I’d retire after the first game lol.
