in terms of team sports, it's the best but soccer still offers more for the very best

and I know Federer was making the most a couple of years ago with endorsements being the primary source

there's more money to be made in being in a global sport especially one where you're traveling all around the world

Soccer players contracts are after tax whereas the NBA is before tax. Also you posted Haaland and Salah well what about Mbappe, Messi, Neymar, Ronaldo??
ronaldo is on 385K pounds per week around $20 million per year

The PSG brehs are an anomaly

Bu bu what about ratings??
I assume the ratings stuff is people knowingly talking shyt just to do it, but yeah, NBA TV ratings in the U.S. only are a small fraction of the business they do selling TV rights across the globe. People forget what a global game basketball is, and the NBA is the best league in that game. Basketball legit is probably the number two sport worldwide.

The NBA is only making about 500M from selling international rights, but that's going to go up in re-negotiations. The league is going to be rolling in bank from their new domestic and international rights sales in the next few years.

Barcelona is out of money and close to bankruptcy due to this deal

NBA teams are paying tier 2 stars 50 million a year without batting an eye

if there was no cap lebron would have got a deal like that

remember michael jeffrey jordan was making 30 MILLION in 1996 when the nba did not have the max

not to mention their is no cap per say in soccer
if the nba didn't have a cap guys like lebron and giannis would be making like 100 mill a year
Can you imagine an uncapped NBA where the five or six biggest teams are owned by petrostates?

Steph, Giannis, and them would be out here making 125-150M a year just off base salary, easy.
