I played a little bit of 2K21 on Gamepass after being away from the game for years. VC and shyt rubbed me the wrong way. A cousin convinced me to come back for next gen 2K22. Acquiring badges was a bit more to my liking and the VC wasn't as insufferable and the game only costs me 10 bucks. I enjoyed it. Can't even lie. I mostly played offline. I watched that Joe Knows builder video yesterday and sheesh. I can already see I can't make a PG or PF build like I had in 2K22. It looks like you have to build a balanced all around character or a role playing specialist, most likely a slow, no defense playing 3 point shooter. The thing is I don't understand how to square that with players that already exist.
Take Steph for instance. Steph would be a 99 in 3's. No one would argue that right? But he's also gonna have high playmaking ratings. His handles and speed with ball both have to be at minimum 90. Passing at least 85. He also finishes at the rim highly effectively. And he isn't a slouch on defense. As far as I can see there is no way to build him with the builder. We won't even get started on Lebron and Giannis.
It's gonna be interesting to see.
This is what got me off 2k like I used to be tbh. I never did park/rec and shyt, and I miss being able to actually make an on paper superstar. I wish they would just separate MC from that shyt. Idgaf about balance and what the next man’s build is. Let me make my true 99. Put your 99 players stats in create a player and that mf is an 85. It’s already been a slap in the face the entire time to be a 65 overall lottery pick. They know most of the shyt doesn’t make sense for their own written narrative, and they don’t even try to find some congruency
