I hope that doesn’t happen either because then it’ll turn into one of those “movie games”.
Naughty Dog Developing...a Last of Us Remake

Some people aren’t hype because they feel ND will change the story for the worse. After part 2 people are thinking that they will try to make Joel act colder than he did in the first game to make him unlikable.
The problem is we don’t know what they could be thinking that could change an already perfect game.
The first game is perfect to me and I wouldn’t change a thing.
The only thing that I could see working is that we see more of Joel and Ellie’s lives before they met and more moments with them together after they meet that we didn’t see before.
Other than that, there should be no change to the story or the iconic scenes that they have.
They should keep most of it the same and maybe make Joel even more likable than the first to at least make fans happy after what happened to him in 2.
this, the first game was perfect when it released, only thing you can critique it on today is that the controls feel more clunky and a lot less fluid then they do in part 2, if they wanna release part 1 again with updated graphics and the more responsive combat/movement of Part 2 along with its access features then cool..it’s still unnecessary as hell but fukk it, but I don’t trust them to NOT make changes to certain parts of the narrative so that they slot better with certain plot points/details of the 2nd game.
I’m open to being wrong, but the only way is down when you start tampering with something that needed no adjustment from a narrative standpoint
What do you think they might change?
I feel if they change too much, this will be hated more than part 2. They should make the remake and Part 3, etc. so good, everyone will like it.

They will most likely create a bundle with remasters of TLOU 1 and 2 with the option of adding Factions 2 which will be its own standalone game.

TLOU2 even doubled down on Joel’s character and how he was essentially a good dude. It literally ended on one of the most wholesome moments of his entire character arc....now y’all nikkas suddenly think they are going to change the story and turn him into a villain

So basically Naughty Dog is stuck developing Last of Us and Uncharted games still.

remember it's a rumor and this might all be true but not in the way we think
a lot of rumors they are also working on a new sci fi IP and potentially a new IP (from their new game directors)
What I think will happen is ND is going to release two stand alone IPs, release factions 2, and release a tlou 1/2 remaster bundle
I think uncharted and the tlou 1 remake is a smaller team/cross team thing
there were also rumors Sony's secret san diego studio was working on it
all I know is we are going to be getting a mix of a lot of remakes, sequels, and new IPs from Sony this gen
hopefully they don't forget about the new IPs by overemphasizing remakes and sequels

If you read the actual article you would see that its only a small part of naughty dog that got brought in to help VASG with it, as it originally started as their project. Bend was brought on as assistants for the new uncharted and factions.
Naughtydog are working on multiple games with the main team (Neil) working on something else. It’s clear sony largely expanded all their top studios, as they are hiring non-stop for SMM and ND.
Likewise insomniac, SMM, are also working on multiple new projects as referenced by their linkedin hiring ads. Cory himself said they are making another big game aside from GoWR.
I’m assuming TLOU remake is for the HBO show thats maybe two years off. Factions and TLOU2 are this year, uncharted might not still be in development, and ND proper are working on their own game

It wasn’t Naughtydog or Sony’s idea to make it, it was VASG that started the project on their own because they wanted to make their own game. They figured this was the perfect project for them since they do all the animation and motion capture stuff anyway and this would put them on the level of bluepoint. When Sony found out they had Naughtydog take over as the leads. Which is why people got mad.
