Kinda hard to be fromsoft games in terms of exploration

i really just think its gonna be like Seattle Day 1 in TLOU2, where you can go into the music shop and get that sequence of ellie playing ’Take On Me’ which is completely optional.

or how you can find the bank vault with the shotgun in it, etc. etc.

you actually learn a lot about the backstory in Seattle between FEDRA and the rebellion and how that formed WLF. A lot of people casually Skip a lot of that

yeah, i'll be fine with that. I actually never skip the exploration of Day 1 when i replay TLOU2. It's one of the chillest parts of the game

but people gotta stop dikkriding Fromsoft. Like goddamn, be your own company. Other studios should be able to explain their work without referencing the same studio each time

Like a Metroidvania/Zelda game

You’re gonna have to piece stuff together to discover where to go and what’s happening but it’s prob still gonna have cutscenes like botw
Yeah but that's what I'm saying, it's one of the things that are the most criticized in the open-world Zelda games

Pacing is not in the hands of the devs anymore and the story has to be fragmented to an extent if you allow players to go about it in the order they want

The typical TLOU storytelling formula is pretty much the opposite so I'm wondering if it'll be still as appealing and immersive

I have faith in ND keeping their games more cohesive and story rich than Fromsoft or Nintendo at the end of the day. We’ll see

I don't mind open levels with gamey stuff so long as the story telling doesn't suffer. I really don't like the "piece together the story" type of games like how BOTW did it. If it's something like how MGSV did it where when you're playing you're doing a lot but when the story bits come together it's incredible.

One of my favorite parts in TLOU2 is when you can explore one of those abandoned buildings in Day 2. then you gotta use the rope mechanics to loop it around the outside awning and swing to the other side.

I want stuff like that

Housemarque and Insomniac might have to hold down next year for Sony, if Insomniac is able to get Wolverine or something else out.
