Man I hope he drops it this 4th of July weekend. He starts he tour the following week. It would only make sense to drop it then

Depends on if he wants to do a “traditional” album rollout for it or just drop it.

Nas, Jay-Z, and some of the elder statesmen of Hip Hop seem to still benefit from a SOMEWHAT traditional rollout. Hell even Kendrick Lamar’s last album was traditional in its rollout (Single+Video=Album 2-3 weeks later)

So if Nas is still in the mindstate of treating LT2 like an album (his original plan) then we might be looking at a SINGLE or maybe even a video over the 4th weekend with an album for Mid-late July.

OR we’re looking a late August-early September release. Dropping in September makes sense as its the 17 year anniversary of the OG LT and Nas’s birthday

There are some older tracks that have actually been heard and described in articles like Get Up and I am Somebody (I heard a snippet of this) and some that have just been mentioned like crabs in a barrel, White Man’s Paper, America’s top Brothel. Play on Playa was one that was saved from SD and later used for HHID. I want to hear all that shyt

I’ve always wanted to hear White Man’s Paper. Everyone who heard it around the time HHID was being hyped said it was FIRE.

Even though I'm only quoting you I welcome anyone to answer.

Didn't Nas and AZ do a song that didn't make SD?

Can’t wait, the first one is probably my favorite Nas tape to just listen to.

I always wondered what recording sessions Last Real nikka Alive Part 2 came from and what other songs maybe came from those sessions. And is the song even complete or just intended to be a “freestyle.” If my memory is correct, this track leaked shortly before LIG.

I think the Last Real nikka Alive part 2 was just a freestyle.

There are so many unanswered questions about Nas unreleased music and the Lost Tapes 2. We’ll never know everything. He goes in an out of so many phases when getting in to album mode. He change the directions of the album several times before finding one to stick with. Therefore, lots of material is left in the vaults. Nasdaq Dow Jones was one where he had recorded material. Maybe not as epic as the Death of Escobar project but he put in some work there too. I hope in the end Nas puts together a legacy team to catalogue all his recordings. He should also take some time to talk about his epic sessions and describe what he was trying to do with each album. When your legacy is all you have left, you should hope to have defined it yourself as opposed to having record label interns and people not associated with the artist left tell the story. Be forward thinking about your music legacy Nas!

True true. All of nas interviews I've heard over the recent years hes talked about he likes the idea of just dropping it. I can see him dropping a track or teaser a few days before and then dropping it a few days later. Hopefully I'm right

I’ve always said I prefer the Nasty Nas so I’d prefer the remaining IWW, I am stuff first and foremost. True Dialect and even Understanding was Nas kickin that poetic street flow that was dope as fukk. I agree with your post seeing how I was one that was glued to those forums waiting to get CDQ versions of the mixtape shyt. Lol (Still waiting on no DJ version of Live from the Bridge). Honestly, ain’t no telling what we gonna get from Nas. He can go so many different directions with this project.

I think I remember hearing about Nothing Last Forever before the Lost Tapes so I don’t know if that was done for TLT. Maybe he completed it but I believe I saw a list of unreleased Nas on this site called Sound circuit back in the day. Everything on this list has come out except Kids from the projects,

This here.

I really want that mid to late 90's material. The Nasty Nas era, when Nas was at his best. There were so many bootleg mixtapes with unreleased Nas shyt on the streets back then. Stuff that never popped up online. When we talk about the Lost Tapes series, I always hope he dusts those joints off.

@Jack Trippa 3z company ho be trippin but I have to agree with him on this. No jay z on the Lost tapes for me.

Anyway, I figure if Nas is going to use Def Jam tracks it going to be all on one album and not spread across other future volumes in order to get totally out of bed with them. We will never fully figure this shyt out and and we will never get all of the lost tapes. There could be 6-7 volumes and there will be one or us, maybe me, complaining about not getting something.

I'd bet money on The Scientist being on there with a new Hov verse. Just Blaze and Nas did an IG video announcing that shyt, this year. Sure maybe nothing came of it...but I'd expect for the track to be on there.

Dunno when it'll release but it sure seems like this year is wide open, in a way rap hasn't been in awhile. Last year everyone knew Drake was dropping, plus Cole dropped earlier. The year before, everyone knew Kendrick was dropping. Maybe something big is coming this year (there are rumors that Kendrick drops, and he's been in London for much of the year recording)...but it just seems like the Lane is empty for rap right now.

Seems like a good time to drop an album, go on tour this summer, and then do festivals in the fall.

I BELIEVE it was just intended to be a loosie. Even though its short it always felt “complete” to me

I would love to her cdq versions of Tales From The Hood, Esco Let's Go, High, Stay Chiseled, Blackness, Who Are You, The Scientist(full version). Sinatra In The Sand and that song with the beat Timberland played on IG. The song the beat 9th wonder did, White Man's Paper and whatever else he got to round out the album. I would be happy af if he decided to say fukkit and make a double album of unreleased tracks:banderas::whew::ohlawd:.

“Heard he calls himself Esco, wears his hat low...”

Remember this unreleased Firm track..

This was the original plan for Lost Tapes II. It was initially going to be unreleased Firm songs and even some Pre-Illmatic tracks. This was when it was first announced. Then it kept getting pushed back.
