HipHopDX gave LIG a 4...it's not like they're haters or something, they tend to have decent reviews. They just gave Bandana a 5, and Benny's EP a 4.5.

As I said in my review there's a lot of stuff here that sounds unfocused or unfinished. This isn't Lost Tapes 1, focus wise or quality wise. It's a solid album. Definitely makes me excited for whatever the Nas Album Done album ultimately becomes.

This is who gave this a 3.1/5

Hard to compare the lost tapes 1 with lost tapes 2. Nas said they will all sound different and be different. I am assuming he said that because he knows he will get off into the older music eventually with this project and that there will be Nasty Nas spitting gangster shyt over dated music. Also, as far as the first one being better, don’t forget that several of the songs on the first lost tapes were going to be featured on a studio album simply put, they should not be considered scraps or leftovers like these.

I had a few of my young friends hit me up telling me that new nas is dope.

The old grumpy me told them to fukk off and stick to da baby and leave Nas to me.

Little fukkers can’t name 3 nas albums but now wanna jump on the bandwagon.

I completely shut off the opinion who doesn't rate this project as a 4 or higher. Hipsters and white music critics have always held a grudge against Nas for some reason and never gave him his dues, i mean the man doesn't have one grammy, after 20 + years of classic songs and albums, they have become obssesed with trying to play down his legacy and paint him as an underachiever.

But the truth is, lost tapes 2 is a classic, it has like half a dozen all time Nas songs, its better than Life is Good, and in fact the best song on Life Is Good would have probably be 'Beautiful Life' if it made it there, Queens Wolf, Lost, The Art of It, Qb Politics, are all all time great Nas songs and this is what a classic album should sound like, just because he doesn't divulge into making cliche off the wall creative type artsy hiphop hybrid songs like Kendrick Lamar, Andre 3000, and others doesn't mean he should get his just dues, the critics analyzing those type songs don't even have the rhythm or knowledge to do so either.

They been kinda off base lately. imo. The review itself was off base. The shyt they was saying was like they didnt even listen to the songs correctly. It’s not about the site itself. It’s the different people they hire to review these projects. Same with sites like IGN etc. The person they got to review this project was off base with his review.

Exactly. Like I said. These people let people review music that shouldn’t be reviewing it. If u saw this cat in real life u wouldnt even take a hip hop album review from him seriously. It’s not even about the score. The review itself was stupid. It’s like he didnt even understand the music he was listening to.

Nas is for real storytelling with his entire discography. Illmatic introduced many to Queensbridge in 1994. We heard/saw/listened to the history of the relationship between Nas and Prodigy throughout the years, including the ups and downs. Nas puts out an emotional song about Prodigy in 2019.

Honestly, to fully enjoy Nas' albums, songs, lyrics, you have to listen to his entire discography and understand his life in the rap game. Listening to his recent albums without fully being exposed to his previous work, is kind of like watching avengers without watching the individual movies about each super hero. You feel a lot more depth, weight, meaning, and connection to the lyrics when you know his full background.
