That was the plan with the Def Jam version. I know for a fact he recorded brand new material including a Pete Rock produced track that Pete was going nuts about. He was going to shoot a video as well but Def Jam didn’t want to budget for the album and didn’t want to count it against his contract

If Its New Material It Defeats The Purpose Of Being “Lost Tapes”

As long as its unheard Nas he can call it whatever he wants:manny: for all we know it can be brand new production just with the “lost tapes” type of vibe and older lyrics. Nas has so many unreleased gems we really wouldn’t know.

Why ya'll nikkas want unreleased stuff from 96-2003 so badly?

I obviously wouldn't mind it. But I would love to hear his unreleased songs from 2006-2016 to be honest

As long as it's unreleased, unheard material I don't care when it's from, :feedme:

My favorite version of Nas is 1994-2001 so if I had to pick I'd pick joints from that time period. But yeah, I'm a stan so it really don't matter to me when it was recorded.

There's a difference between a couple new songs or finishing up unfinished song and making an actual new full album.

If Pete Rock recorded something for Nas’ Lost Tapes back in 2010, it’s been ok the shelf for 9 years and prep albums have passed since, then its a legit Lost Tape track now.
