Albums Nas - The Lost Tapes 2 (Discussion Thread)

I don't see this Lost Tapes being like the last. It was promoted as "no hype, no BS". I think it will stay true to the "no BS", but this definitely has hype. Like 16 years worth of hype. I think an advertisement was inside the booklet for The Bravehearts album.

It is unlikely, but I think a Nas Lost Tapes could make for a classic double album.

He definitely has enough material to fill a double album, he could divide the two discs with two different period.

Something like :

Disc 1 : 2005-2008 (HHID and Untitled sessions)
Disc 2 : 2010-2018 (LIG sessions and song recorded from the album he was working on before Nasir)

It’s shouldn’t be long. Nas has the 2010 version of Lost Tapes 2 in the can already according to him. He would just be adding songs and then maybe going back to tighten up whatever needs to be tightened up as far as production, edits or additional vocals.

When got with Mass Appeal, he spoke of volumes and volumes of Lost Tapes so that’s him acknowledging that he wants to put lots of it out.

This was some Red Bull contest if I remember correctly....Nas picked the best beat submitted from new & upcoming producers & laced the track...

That was the plan with the Def Jam version. I know for a fact he recorded brand new material including a Pete Rock produced track that Pete was going nuts about. He was going to shoot a video as well but Def Jam didn’t want to budget for the album and didn’t want to count it against his contract
