It's easy for a nygga to be freedom fighter/"street nygga with morals" when the IRS and divorce lawyers ain't got one foot in your azz and five toes on your throat. "It's sorta like the conclusion to color purple nas is losin...."

When you 10+ albums deep, you don't need a hot single to move units. He grown past that. Hot singles that are geared towards the radios and clubs after a certain point makes you look old and out of touch. Like LL's "Ratchet" track.

I disagree, I don't think he has the ability to adapt w the times as well as Hov. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed LIG, but it's not something that stands up against work like Illmatic/IWW where ill b listening to it ten years down the line. Ppl calling it classic??? :childplease: it was a good album for Nas to drop in the twilight of his career, but lets stop overhyping it. And yes, without hit records artists tend to fade away n lose their relevance (IE 50 cent). That's y I gotta give it to Hov, he been in it 16 years n puts out consistent hits n is able to adapt w the times. Some of the biggest records of his career (commercial/street) came out in the past three years. The last big Nas record that was heavy in the street was "made u look" . N don't come in here trying to act like "the don" was anything special  Nas feeds his core fanbase at this pt, which is cool but he's barely relevant outside of that. N for the record I don't fukk w the majority of these new school rappers either.

Major tours, liquor contracts, GAP advertisement, Fila, ESPN, hanging with Hollywood cac socialites, book deal, new album in the works...

If Nas would have married Kellis in 1994 instead of 2004, his net worth might be up there with Puff, Russell and Jay right now...

Nas is a sellout for this

no ifs ands or buts

and I'm a Nas stan.

I guess KRS was the last real rap n1gga

The one thing I will say tho is that Nas had to be forced into a financial crisis before he sold his people out. Jay Z and Diddy did it while they were eating good already with hundreds of millions
