Nas really got 5 classics. Name which other rapper that got 5 classic rap albums. Honestly.

There isn't an argument for God's Son being a classic album. If it's your personal classic that's cool but come on. It has a couple classic Nas songs but overall is just a good album. Didn't impact the genre, isn't perfect or nearly perfect...

Illmatic, IWW, Lost Tapes. Having 3 classics isn't anything to be ashamed of lol. Most great rappers don't even have two.

Last real nikka alive

Thugz mansion
Mastermind
Revolutionary warfare

Heaven

All make God's son a classic. If y'all calling life after death and all eyez on me classics despite both albums having an abnormal amount of fillers then God's son is classic even its got a average songs on it. Give nas the respect he deserves.

Stillmatic is not a classic. There's classic songs obviously but there's some average to a couple trash songs too. 3-3.5 /5 at best. This album was better wen it came out 30-35% of it isn't replayable no more. Destroy and rebuild ain't shyt to thun and kicko as well so even if it was ight it's automatically scrapped to me. I don't even listen to what goes around that to me is gunits song they made that joint hot. Blueprint came out same time and was better. Nas ethered jay tho.

This.

He has 3 classics IMO..

Illmatic, Stillmatic & Lost Tapes

IWW, LIG & God Son are great albums but 1 or 2 tracks prevent them from being classics.

Illmatic - absolute classic. changed the rap game.
IWW - any album with take it in blood is a classic
Stillmatic - Intro, ether, got ur self a gun, 2nd childhood, u da man, what goes around and the flyest. fukking classic.
The lost tapes - this compilation album is better than most rappers careers. simply a classic. The du rags....
God's Son - no comment. just classic. nas went in on last real nikka alive.

Please name another rapper with 5 classics or more. Don't say jay z cuz he got three (RD, TB and TBA) and don't say Kendrick, he on 4 (GKMC, TPAB, DAMN and S80)

:banderas:
Pac got 8 classics (2Pacalypse Strictly 4 My nikkaz Me Against The World All Eyes On Me 7 Day Theory R U Still Down? Until The End Of Time and Better Dayz) Jay got 6 classics (Reasonable Doubt Vol. 2 The Blueprint The Black Album American Gangster and 4:44) Kendrick got 5 classics (Overly Dedicated Section 80 Good Kid Maad City To Pimp A Butterfly and Damn) and other rappers got at least 5 as well.:camby:

This BS about 1 or 2 tracks from a classic make me laugh. To me, a classic is about how an album resonates and stands the test of time. Not that you can't find fault with it. People call GKMC classic because there's nothing wack necessarily on it but if we're honest there are albums that resonated, influenced and impacted a lot more even though they may have a questionable track or so.

Get Rich Or Die Tryin is undeniably classic even if you can say you didn't like a track or 2. The fact that 10-15 years you can play the album anywhere in the world and ppl will know most the songs etc show its classic

Your criteria is biased tho cuz you're only allowing soloists. Include group albums and there's plenty of competition. Just off the top of my head the 4 or 5 "classic" class by squad or group could arguably include:

EPMD (I consider Back In Business a classic)

Wise Intelligent (3 with Poor Righteous Teachers and his first solo album was borderline, production prolly holds it back)

Ghostface (3 solo classics, plus 3 with the clan including the Purple Tape, which is arguably better than Illmatic)

KRS (2 solo classics, 3 BDP classics, which were basically KRS solo albums anyway)

Tribe

P.E.

MF DOOM

Showbiz and AG

Prodigy

Redman (including the first Blackout album he has 4)

And an argument can be made for Masta Ace, tho I have him at 3.

But again, all depends on definition of classic.
