Pete done a bunch of full length albums did anyone care?

Camp-Lo
DZA
Smiff n Wessun

and guess what none of them were album of the year material. DZA project might have been the best one and even that got no hype. Y'all just want a nikka to stay stuck in the past. Pete brought a bunch of beats to the watch the throne sessions and the one they ended up using was from 97 or something for the Joy song.

The reason Pete will never work with Nas again is because he berated him for his choice in production for IWW and has been tryna get back on his good side ever since. He burned that bridge acting like an elitist clown, now he is relegated to stalking nas instagram comments. :dead:

I know it's ancient but is there somewhere I can read this online? :patrice:

I love this album

but I still wish Nas got the beats Pusha T got
I agree.

Imma be real here, I actually think DAYTONA is the better album. Yes the subject matter isn't comparable but from a technical standpoint Push was rapping his ass off on that shyt.

I sensed some laziness from this on Nas' part. Simple things could've been better and Everything was just weird

Aight I finally got a few listens in the speakers and in headphones...as a Nas stan who is not a fan of Kanye...

1. Not For Radio - I mentioned earlier that this one reminded me of N.I.G.G.E.R. (Slave & The Master). Beat is good enough and Nas does his thing on this one. I like the addition of Diddy since he wasnt on the live stream version. 4/5

2. Cops Shot the Kid - I HATED this song during the live stream. it grew on me after the album finally dropped esp since Nas always raps on beats like this and gets his Rakim on. I do think this track needed a 3rd verse from Nas. His verse was good but not great. Kanye's verse was Kanye...it was cool and had its standout lines. 4/5

3. White Label - This one reminds me of something off Jay-Z's last few albums production-wise. I like the track though and its definitley one of my favorites. The heart physician line was a wack line imo. 4/5

4. Bonjour - The singing on this song is GREAT. This one might be my favorite but it changes each listen. 4/5

5. Everything - I hated this one on the live stream because it had so much of a Kanye sound with the high pitch singing and i thought the beat sounded like some of the shyt Eminem has been rapping to on Recovery and MMLP2..After really getting to listen to the legit version though this is easily my favorite song on the album. Kanye's singing is trash and i dont like the autotune but i feel all the shyt he's saying in the hook and it still works. I really like The Dream's parts and Nas killed it except for a few parts. The message was kind of scattered but thats a true Nas song trait. Is that shyt really anti vacc? It didnt really sound like that to me but :manny: 4.5/5

6. Adam & Eve - Another song with great singing that really puts the song on another level. Nas kills this one. He might be his most lyrically sharp on this one. I love the little subliminal supposedly about Nicki. I've heard this sample on other tracks before but i love how Nas sounds on this one. This is def in my top 2. 4.5/5

7. Simple Things - I didn't like this one on the live stream either. I said in a previous post that the beat was trash. I still think the beat is underwhelming and melancholy. I feel like this is a good throwaway song. A couple good lines on this track but overall this one is an easy skip and it ends super abrupt and the album is over 3/5.

Overall I'd rate this a 4/5. Its a good project but I definitely think it needed at least 3 more songs on it to really round it out. It just feels like something is missing even though the songs have so many moments that make me like them. Every time i listen to this it just makes me turn on one of Nas' older albums and run back history :blessed:

Hopefully these joints grow on me more. I'd hate to chime back in later and take my review back :pachaha:

Oh my.....nikkas.....:wow:

This would have been pure uncut crack. Good lord.:wow:

Most of these guys, 9th, questlove etc are Nas stans from the 90s but Jay showed them love and Nas didnt as he was completely oblivious to their fandom and they were on their whatever nas shyt. 9th would still want a placement on a Nas album though. And he would murder it clearly. Dude has been making beats for yeah with Nas in mind but never got the chance.

Nas fanboys are so insecure that it's to the point of delusion. The everything is love joint isn't even a jay album. It's a beyoncé album featuring jay. The fact that this site is infested by fake self righteous insecure Nas trolls aside, you should expect the first album in 6 years from a legend like Nas to be more talked about than a surprise hip hop r&bish album starring beyonce featuring jay.

What I don't understand is how y'all can be so insecure and antagonistic at the same time. Y'all keep this competition/beef with jay alive not realizing that it's the ultimate source of your insecurity and overall sense of being unfulfilled with Nas and his career. If y'all were secure in nas's music and legacy then you constantly feel the need to compete with jay.

This is why I dismissed the "jay tryna sabotage Nas" gossip. Jay playing a whole different game. It would be silly for him and beyonce to even be thinking about Nas.

Damn. Relax it all fun. You feel hurt. Its hip hop. OF COURSE the Nas and Jay will continue. You feel insecure over just mentions of post numbers. Just roll with the fact Nas have the bigger buzz on this site. Who cares about other shyt.

How is somebody like Nas oblivious to 9th wonder after all this time?

fukk the bullshyt , this has been dope as fukk after letting it digest. I can see this aging well.

Exactly. I look at this album like a expensive french meal. Everybody aint gonna like the shyt and it aint as filling as a steak, ribs, mashed potatoes and greens hiphop. But its still good as fukk and in the long run im glad i tried it. Maybe that sounds weird but yea

Ehh...

2015

2016

That was only 2-3 years ago, and I don't think it would be controversial to suggest his flow sounds better in both clips than at any point on Nasir. Adam & Eve comes the closest. Nas follows the drums. The faster the tempo is, the more likely he is to whip out a dope flow. I'm amazed that Kanye didn't play around with that more. Give Nas a classic break to rap over. Trap drums aren't for him.

exactly same thing I sad on the listening party album is too slow. He need a faster tempo

if anything this project just exposed how overrated Kanye is currently cuz he didn't even produce Nas as well as NO I.D. or salaam remi do...

The lyrics are strong and the production isn't all the way cohesive.

I hope this experiment let's everyone see the truth Nas was picking beats just fine. He don't need bloated production to shine.

I fukk with everything after white label and the songs are strong but not for radio is exemplary of what's not good on this album. It's clunky and mismatched.
