I've given it the whip test, head phone test, house speaker test and this album still didn't move me :mjcry:.

Nas the Goat but this album doesnt add anything to his legacy imo.

Hope the good folks at Mass Appeal have another project out this year :mjcry:

over 5000 comments in here in just three days. :wow:

Everything is Love only barely over 1300 comments:scusthov:

Every though the Carters tried to hijack the buzz, The Coli still more into dissecting this Nasir album :ahh:
This thread started on May 23, and The EIL thread started Saturday. Also, The Coli is full of Nas Stans so that contributes too. Both albums are dope.

Shangri-La
Def not a six years in the making joint, there are a few distinct moments (def on Not For Radio) where it sounds like he should still be rapping over the beat- I'm cool with the samples, didn't really have a direction with this album. I expected better from Nas but I have to revisit it may grow on me.

The mixing on this is off, Not for Radio should've been a lot crisper and a little faster. There are also moments where the beat drowns out his voice (White Label)
I'm always down for a Slick Rick sample, I enjoyed Ye's selections.

Nas sounds distinctly flabby on this, I can tell his age.

That song is old...Nas can’t flow like that anymore

Ehh...

2015

2016

That was only 2-3 years ago, and I don't think it would be controversial to suggest his flow sounds better in both clips than at any point on Nasir. Adam & Eve comes the closest. Nas follows the drums. The faster the tempo is, the more likely he is to whip out a dope flow. I'm amazed that Kanye didn't play around with that more. Give Nas a classic break to rap over. Trap drums aren't for him.
