I'm still listening and I don't really hear any flaws in his flow. With this album and Life Is Good, Nas is finally rapping over dope production and now "Nas is rapping off beat" is the new "Nas can't pick good beats".

While I don't love every song, it is still dope.

People were saying finally Nas over dope beats but Life Is Good had great production from NOid and salaam remi.

My views on the alleged abuse are well known, I won't re-litigate it. But anyone panning the album because he doesn't address Kelis, or because of the allegations in general, is a fukking joke. If you cannot separate art from the artist, why are you reviewing art in the first place?

My criticisms of the album have nothing to do with Kelis. Do I want to hear Nas' side? OF COURSE. But I am going to assume he will address it at a later time, on another album. And even if he doesn't....that's his right.

This. This generation is letting the media shape their thinking in believing artists owe them an explanation over unsubstantiated allegations. I understand that kind of arrogance and entitlement from journalists, but social media has got the average peon out here thinking they're owed something too.

Regardless though, to say this Nasir album is underwhelming is an understatement in itself. Modern day Nastradamus IMO. Which is sad cuz the media and your sensitive The Root/Jezebel types see this as a golden opportunity to take down another male.

Was this recorded in order? Nas sound rusty as hell up until track 4. Then by Adam & Eve, he finally sounds like the Nasty I expect. But I think being able to hear this natural progression is so cool.

Nas – ‘Nasir’ review
score 3/5
Rapper returns after six years with a political album that address America's race inequalities but remains silent on Kelis' allegations

I've never seen album reviews where a rapper get criticized because he didn't address a certain topic on his album?:why:
