It definitely sounds like it was an experimental project put together in 1 month. The idea is pretty cool. However, it probably wasn't the best idea to drop it after a 6 year hiatus. A Kanye-produced 7 track album could've worked if promoted as a side project AFTER the real album he's been working was released.

My biggest critique is the mixing. The vocal levels on White Label and Bonjour are definitely too loud. Also, Kanye proclaims to be a Nas stan but he definitely didn't provide beats that fit Nas perfectly. Most beats on DAYTONA would work better for Nas.

With that said, I like the album and enjoy listening to it.

Man this.

Listen to Jay Rock album and then listen to this, there is no polish, Mike Dean is either losing his ear or is unfamiliar with the studio equipment in Wyoming.

I dont have a problem with Cop shots the Kid but understand the complaints about the sample and vocal clashing.

On not for radio 070 shake vocals sit too loud in the mix.

It may be hard to blame the mixer if he is getting deadlines that he simply cant keep up with though..... But i know hes been in a habit for a while of mixing songs too fast

That joint prob got some cacs lowkey mad. That's why I like Nas though. Just doesn't give a fukk
He opens the album with "Black Kemet gods, Black Egyptian gods..."

You just know there was some cacs out there who caught feelings from the jump.

Crazy how mixed the reaction is.

I been telling y'all bout Pete rock and his twitter fingers. He i.g. stalks Nas kissing ass and been out the circle since his it was written comments. So apparently they finally worked together and he goes right back to sneak dissing after Nas drops the Kanye album before whatever they locked in for. This guy is so bytch made.

If you ever wonder why C.L. Smooth called him a fakkit now you know. 2 face clown.

Kanye West post 2013 is terrible

At fashion
At music
At politics

Everything. He sucks.
that gold tint they used to mask the shyt fading.

I don't think Kanye could live without being relevant or famous so for his sake I hope he doesn't fall off but people are starting to see thru his shyt.

Pete has jus been throwing little sublims throughout IG in reference to Nas and the album.

Large comment on a pic Nas put up with swizz thanking him for cigars saying "maybe I should've gave u cigars instead of a place on a track (most likely referring to Live at the BBQ) then I would've gotten more love"

@Ziggiy @spliz now rereading this Large was definitely in his feelings bout not be either acknowledged or under Nas at the party. I feel this has more so to do with that than him not getting a production credit
oh, too bad for them.

Got to let it age but I like this way more than HHID. And as an album more than SD and Nastradamus even those had project windows, thief’s theme, just a moment and some other better songs but as albums are kind of a drag to listen to the whole thing. My main criticism is that everything is like 1/4 of the album.
