NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
LP deleted his comment tho, could've been the henny talking. Nas has always given him props so must've been a personal slight that evening.

We've had entire rap beefs because niccaz felt that they weren't greeted properly at random parties :russ:
That shyt is disappointing and corny of LP. nikka couldve just hit Nas personally if he felt a way.

That's the era we live in :yeshrug:

Same as Jungle sending that shot at Jay. People get upset and now hve the tools to vent immediately instead of calming down/thinking shyt through.

I think 7-8 tracks is ideal for people like me who don't like playlists very much. You still get an album experience but it doesn't drag on too long to overstay its welcome. It's one of the reasons I loved You Only Live 2wice so much. There's only like a couple people's playlists that I bump, and it's full of tracks that are generally out of my scope.

Plus, the seven-track format lends to a lot more replay value than people give it credit for, particularly for busy people and long-distance commuters.

I like the album, but it seemed like Nas wasn't used to rapping at the tempo of these instrumentals

Pete has jus been throwing little sublims throughout IG in reference to Nas and the album.

Large comment on a pic Nas put up with swizz thanking him for cigars saying "maybe I should've gave u cigars instead of a place on a track (most likely referring to Live at the BBQ) then I would've gotten more love"

@Ziggiy @spliz now rereading this Large was definitely in his feelings bout not be either acknowledged or under Nas at the party. I feel this has more so to do with that than him not getting a production credit
Old bitter nikkas

What has hip hop come to? seriously so you going to tell me with a straight face that your viewpoint of this album isn't due to you feeling some type a way about Kanye?

Are the people that are saying "his flow was off" or the samples and beats are "too loud" or whatever super critical ass opinions floating around, how much of this type of criticism do we give to the current batch of rappers? Do we have cole and Kendrick under this same microscope? cant yall nikkas just enjoy the music with out dissecting every aspect of the songs?
I can enjoy good hip hop music when I feel it's good hip hop music, not just because it's Nas, who happens to be maybe my favorite emcee of all time. You complain about people dissing this project when you have 3 times as many people sucking it off only because it's Nas. Gtfoh with that.

And I do hate Kanye so yeah I'd rather him stick to the beats I don't wanna hear his vocals on anything. Nas lyrics on this are pretty solid, so I am not criticizing his raps but I don't think there's any stand out tracks on this mini project that I will be bumping throughout the summer.

It’s funny cause if u look at the RESPECT doc when they did Nas Large’s 1st scene you hear him in the back complaing bout something to which Nas Laughly said “he must be drunk” the way he said that let’s me kno he has experience and is used to side ways comment from LP when he get like that so most likely it’s nothing to him and it would prob be squashed if it hasn’t already.

after spinning it this weekend:

1. Another Nas album that will not be on the playlist of his shows after this initial run of shows. These songs not built for live audiences. I dont understand. All this material he has made and the setlist will always be Illmatic with a splash of IWW and a few randoms.

2. Im kinda over the random facts rap. Im a history buff, but I just dont wanna hear it allllll the time.
Fox news was started by a black man? even if it was, what it gotta do with the current Fox trash.

3. I dont care for this Kanye selection of beats. Watch the Throne was trash too except for two songs. So, Im not blaming a bad match for NAS and Kanye. its just Kanye not what he used to be. Its not bad, its just not a fit for other artists outside himself.

4. I just dont like the album. Im not gonna force it. Nas needs to go back to the lab and focus on music. his conversation flow is not it. If it isnt his thang anymore, so be it. I'll have the memories.

It definitely sounds like it was an experimental project put together in 1 month. The idea is pretty cool. However, it probably wasn't the best idea to drop it after a 6 year hiatus. This album would've been better embraced if it was promoted as a side project AFTER the real album he's been working was released.

My biggest critique is the mixing. The vocal levels on White Label and Bonjour are definitely too loud. Also, Kanye proclaims to be a Nas stan but he definitely didn't provide beats that fit Nas perfectly. Most beats on DAYTONA would work better for Nas.

With that said, I like the album and enjoy listening to it.
