I disagree. I always thought KRS was top tier lyrically and preferred him over the likes of Kane and Kool Moe Dee. KRS was also able to better adapt to the times than Kane or Moe Dee.

KRS was always a subject matter + energy type Mc. Dope channel by jaquan where he breaks down many of the 80s mcs. The part I marked off hits on why/how those other guys were more lyrical

He basically said he prefers Kane as an MC overall because Kane was fly. He had songs for every occasion whereas KRS was more one dimensional. He also HEAVILY inferred that Kane was lyrically better than KRS which was the most shocking thing to me

I just know KRS felt a way about that.

but Nas came up idolising Shan and Juice Crew so it’s not all the way surprising.

To ME KRS was nicer than he was given credit for. Kane is more sharp. But KRS can lyrically match Kane if he wants and has shown it. Plus KRS the better storyteller. Something I was FOR SURE Nas would appreciate. shyt kinda made me feel a way I can’t even front. Lol.

The "teacher" element that Nas pointed out is what made KRS a great, I never thought he was as lyrical as Kool G Rap, Kane, Rakim or Kool Moe D

No 80s mc adjusted to the times, even up til today, better than Kool G Rap. He sounds modern even with mumble rap being popular.
