Look at writer :mjlol:

Could care less how he looks. He STILL acknowledges it as a nice album. More so than anything, it would be interesting to know what "bums him out". Considering he mentions 4:44, Kelis, and Nas's business ventures, it seems like his review was more personal far more than it was professional.

What got overlooked in it all, is dude mentioned "Good Morning". I definitely don't agree with the review, but I did respect the reference to an unreleased and kind of forgotten Nas song.

In conclusion, Pitchfork ratings shouldn't even be taken seriously. Look what they gave Stillmatic, Lost Tapes and the biggest blunder of them all is what they did to Untitled. God's Son and Life Is Good are the only Nas albums that got good reviews from them.

The last paragraph of this review is really some bizarre shyt.

"But this is what Nas does: If Illmatic and It Was Written have an expository flaw, it’s that their inmates, capos, and Queensbridge Park winos are welded to their fates."

This white critic who hasn't stepped within a mile of QB gonna tell Nas what being in QB is like?

He only did it to add some fake credibility to his bullshyt article, same way Rosenberg did with the "one on one" tweet.
I don't fall for the okie dok.

My last on Pitchfork and please take note on these statements and you'll understand the BS:

The falloff has been a bytch; Nas' sins include releasing what can politely be considered a string of mediocre albums, ghostwriting for Will Smith, and immersing himself in enough beefs to keep a fleet of hip-hop gossip columnists busy for years---- Excerpt from Pitchfork review of Lost Tapes Nas: The Lost Tapes

Instead, Nas has broken our hearts with a series of decent-to-mediocre albums that belittle both his considerable talent and the sheer brilliance of Illmatic.---- Excerpt from Pitchfork review of God's Son Nas: God's Son

^^^ this still got a 8.6/10 rating though

Nas has been disappointing people nearly half his life. By now, the passion play of raised and swiftly dashed hopes that occurs whenever he announces a new album has repeated itself enough times to officially qualify as farce--- Excerpt from Pitchfork review of Life Is Good Nas: Life Is Good

8.3 rating^^^^

It is clear that they are pushing this narrative that Nas's career has been a disappointment even when they are praising him. They still downplay him. Again, why after 20 years of them downplaying Nas do we continue to read these as if it is credible or objective?

"One On One" is more of a known Nas song though. It is 't unreleased. I didn't read or see Rosenberg's review, but "Good Morning' wasn't just thrown out there. I can see a comparison between "Good Morning" and "Ugly".

You may have a point. But one good remark in a pile of shyt isn't exactly make me want to applaud him for that

Clear as day. I went back to see his review on the az doe or die 2 and he even took time in that throw shots at Nas. It's weird.

Have yall ever met a fan of Peter Rosenberg? Off that, have you ever met anyone who respects/values Peter Rosenberg's opinion? I guarantee you have not...so why do yall get so worked up about these reviews from these powerless, corny ass people?

The overwhelming consensus is "Magic" is straight fire and Nas's best album in decades...stop caring so much about what damn near voiceless people have to say and why they're saying it,. Your reaction gives them way more power than they actually have.

If Charlamagne went on his syndicated radio show and shytted on Magic then I'd understand why Nas fans would feel a way, he has a huge platform(s) and is a prominent, semi-respected voice in hip hop. Yall get heated about reviews that literally no one who isn't on a hip hop message board, most likely, will ever even hear about. Lol, I don't know 1 person in real life who knows what pitchfork is.

That doesn't make the disrespect okay.
Some of us are actually from the culture n know what's fire.

These white media corporations deserve a huge side eye the way they view hip hop.

Name any black media person they did let disrespect anything they hold sacred

IE friends Seinfeld The Eagles U2 n on n on

Furthermore, there's something unsettling about the way they seem to enjoy murder/disrespectful raps.
