NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
I don't see what Andre 3000 is doing as annoying. He told us in 1998, that rapping at a certain age was corny to him. That was him in his prime, so it's not like he went back on his word. I'm more surprised that he still drops verses here and there. If anything, I think that is what split OutKast. Big is out here saying OutKast is everlasting and back in '96, Andre told us, "we won't be able to ride out until 2004". Clearly, he had plans of stopping while Big was going to keep going.

Nas is rare. What he's doing is something that hasn't been done before him and it's scary to possibly any MC who isn't Nas. We've all witnessed rappers have these incredible runs and then become corny. We've seen MC's who were way past their prime and continue to drop lackluster material that tarnished their legacy. We've seen MC's who deluded themselves into thinking they were still hot and embarass themselves trying to sound current.

Andre 3000 didn't want to be Brett Favre. Meanwhile, Nas is Tom Brady.
I feel u. But on the flip side. Man’s didn’t even step out once on his own hip hop wise his whole career. That’s gotta say something as well.

Premo is an example of how these elder statesmen in Hip Hop SHOULD be moving. No hate. No jealousy. No “WHY NOT ME?!?!” mentality. Just showing love and respect.

This is why I hate seeing him lumped in with 9th and Pete Rock. Both Primo and Salaam Remi have continued to show Nas love no matter which producers he is working with. They definitely ain’t hate on newer producers or try to act like they know what’s best for Nas

FINALLY took a 30 minute drive and listened. But only once before I listened to the Lyte podcast

Nas the GOAT. :manny:

I't STILL not my AOTY, but it's flat out STOOPID that Nas got TWO of my top 3 AOTY. But it might just be a first listen reaction. It's like him and Boldy James trying to see who can top the last album they dropped.

But on the real if I had to choose my 15 fav joints out of the 3 I'd probably have 3 from KD1, and then 6 from KD2 + 6 from Magic or just 7 from KD2

I was just talking to my boys about this last night

Rocky needs to be given his flowers for real, he's probably the illest representation of NY Hip Hop in the recent era alongside Joey Badass

And he wifed up Rhianna :sadcam:

Chill man, these dudes are talented and I agree they are the closest representation of that old school NY hip hop in the "new generation" that we got left, but their output is abysmal. Rocky's last album Testing came out 2018 going on 4 years (was kinda whack too) and All American Badass came out in 2017.

You can't get flowers when you dropping 1 album every 5 years. Nas just done blessed us with 3 classics in two years. 4 if you count LT2.

Andre was always a part of duo. Him being elusive and dropping verses out of nowhere amassed him a following that placed him in the realm of GOATs. He didn't want it or even ask for it, but he's now stuck with it.

like others said KD2 was the hardest. I got another 5 off that album that could easily be top 5 joints.

but looking at these songs makes me look crazy at people saying the highs on these hitboy albums don’t match the highs of Nas other classics. I feel like all the songs I listed could be slotted into most of Nas classic albums and they would fit perfectly right along side Nas best songs.

This.
How y'all not including the most epic melodic storytelling track on KD2? Gives me "Memory Lane" type vibes
My fav track off KD2

Exactly, I couldnt do a KD2 top 5 without it. Might even be my favorite joint out the 3 projects. Strong concept executed perfectly, speaks to everyone, best written joint for sure

I'm sorry but these songs don't compare. Look Nas 4 classics be honest do these songs match up against shyt like Take it in Blood? Shootouts? Memory Lane?NYSOM? ect... To me those songs wouldn't fit Nas was on another planet lyrically
