Nas’s crown is not coming off his head anytime soon, but keep watching. How can someone with nothing left to prove, 30 years in the game, rhyme like he still has everything to prove? One day, we’ll ask.

Because he is the fukking GOAT
Indisputable.
The holy trinity - Flow, catalog, work ethic.

3 for 3 & i see some cornball journalists are still mad lmao. i took time with this album to analyze it & magic has NOT left the whip for nothing. nas laying down blueprints that an annoying emcee like andre 3000 needs to take heed to. there is nothing wrong with ageing in hip hop. this is how you do it. you stay loyal to the craft & don't listen to anybody who says you have to work with producers you worked with 30 years ago. be open to new sounds & sonic landscapes and what feels right to you as an artist. the rest will take care of itself as long as you killing them lyrically & keep raising the bar

:ohlawd:feels like a trilogy now :wow: finna start at kd 1 and work my way through to magic :wow:

Gotta give props to some of these hooks too:

Your top three, I'm not number one, how could you post that?
I wear the crown, the city is mine, you cannot hold that
I'm not the one to go at, you fukk around, meet Joe Black

Hollywood gangsta, goons with 'em everywhere
I'm the opposite, smooth, not spreading fear
Silver spoons never fed Nasir
I'm on top and I surprise 'em

nikkas ain't telling the truth enough
Y'all don't look like the truth to us
Hype off that lil' dirt you did, that ain't shyt to the kid

I don't see what Andre 3000 is doing as annoying. He told us in 1998, that rapping at a certain age was corny to him. That was him in his prime, so it's not like he went back on his word. I'm more surprised that he still drops verses here and there. If anything, I think that is what split OutKast. Big is out here saying OutKast is everlasting and back in '96, Andre told us, "we won't be able to ride out until 2004". Clearly, he had plans of stopping while Big was going to keep going.

Nas is rare. What he's doing is something that hasn't been done before him and it's scary to possibly any MC who isn't Nas. We've all witnessed rappers have these incredible runs and then become corny. We've seen MC's who were way past their prime and continue to drop lackluster material that tarnished their legacy. We've seen MC's who deluded themselves into thinking they were still hot and embarass themselves trying to sound current.

Andre 3000 didn't want to be Brett Favre. Meanwhile, Nas is Tom Brady.
