the wave Nas on right now is just pure hip hop and really beautiful to see. From the Video Music Box doc to Hip Hop 50 to the podcast to all this music, Nas keeping hip hop history out there more than probably anyone else

which makes sense given Nas always was a hip hop history guy and gave love to those who came before him, but at this point with how rich he is, he really doesn’t need to do all of this

He’s the only big rapper that still always talks about and features the people who inspired him, he got EPMD their biggest look in years with a song with Em, after doing an original song about them, his got whole songs dedicated to Rakim, never fails to mentioned a whole host of 80 rap and Rnb stars in his work, he truly is a black music historian.

To be fair to him Eminem is another rapper I see show a lot of love to the forgotten 80 rappers.

So true. What other rapper going to name a mainstream album partially after a hip hop DJ from the 80s with Mr Magic

I can’t find no faults in this album man. Nas is just in an incredible space and making music because he wants to, not because of label obligations, not to get an advance or any of that shyt that makes music sound forced. I was on the road and played this shyt twice back to back and I legit felt chills. This album is just comfortable to listen to. It really is just press play and do some shyt while it’s playing. The fukking goat.

this run is like those exams questions with choices A,B or C having a correct answer and D says ALL of the above:smugdraper::win:
Im about to start considering these three along with the coming KD3 as one larger body of work. Kind of like when Jazz artists went through certain movements in their careers, Nas is becoming hip hops/ the modern day Miles Davis

Yeah, with wack songs like this ***major sarcasm***

Those 3 verses run circles around your fav rapper

I really don't get that take. I know music is subjective but everything in that SD-Untitled era was ridiculously good.

I think he's speaking from an outside/general perspective.

2005-2011 Nas, was his weakest era. in comparison to 1994-1996...1997-2000...2001-2004 and current Nas.

I tried telling my boys hitboy can give you anything and they were still talking about “ we need a preemo “ type beat or album. Then when wave god came out, ppl jump straight to that track and they were talking about “ this is the best track, this the preemo beat Nas needs n hit boy can’t do that“ etc etc.

Just come to find out hitboy produced the whole song and it’s just preemo scratches and you’ll be a fool to think hitboy can’t give you those same scratches lol.
