WTFFFFF man, how could he top that AGAIN
I was almost preparing myself to have this album slightly below Magic, ngl... Because it's gonna have to happen some day right?

the more they continue to drop together, the more they will likeky drop a disapointing project. but I already thought they wouldn't make it for kd3 since that's the first one that was anticipated and with the most pressure, but they managed to pulled it off. If Magic 2 is better than the previous one which is my favorite joint of the all run, I will not know what to say

I'm so exited I'm already changing my day off from thursday to friday so I can listen to the joint all day without being bothered. Since in Europe it will drop at 6 am I will be able to stay in bed and enjoy it with you guys. I will see the nolan movie thursday night then magic 2, mission impossible 7 and the one piece chapter friday. What a week my friend :blessed:

The difference between the KD series and Magic is that the KD series is more “musical” than Magic. Magic is modern day Boom Bap. There are NO sung hooks. There are NO R&B samples. Its the least shall we say “experimental” of the albums to date. Its also less lyrically diverse, actually probably best to say less CREATIVELY diverse in case someone thinks i’m saying Nas took a step back lyrically. Its basically 9 tracks of Nas punching his chest and outright saying he’s the greatest. There’s no vulnerability, even albums like I am and Stillmatic, where Nas is at his most aggressive and braggadocios there are moments of humility. Magic is Nas beating into your head that he’s the greatest, nobody else is close, and that he loves this Hip Hop shyt so much he’s dedicated every ounce of his being to it. There is literally one theme to Magic. “ I AM Hip Hop and Hip Hop IS me”

I can agree with the first bolded. And the 2nd bolded is a good way to put it

And funny you say that about not being vulnerable, bc I said essentially the same thing as to why cats were overeating the album

This? 9 songs is an official album, but it maybe doesn’t ’feel’ like it bc it’s not very personal, no skits no narration, no theme, it’s kinda just a collection of cool lil songs. 9 tracks, 3 I don’t like. That means it’s 6 dope tracks. Very EP-like

Magic was dope, but Nas’ super power is the personal tracks, vulnerability, etc. Cats were goin nuts with the prisoner of the moment takes ‘this a top 5 Nas album’. :mjtf:

How do you guys interpret the cover? The first one had a young Nas looking out the project window with the fronts in, what do you think of this one?

Maybe him going from the Nasty Nas to the Nas now? He got waves on the right hand pic though......hmmmm

‘I interpret it as him mixing in his illmatic style and coming together with him now and they are attached at this moment of his pen game and for the album. They are intertwined for this album.

This is contradictory. if KD 1-3 is this amazing run but Magic is where he REALLY rappin, then wtf is he doin on the other 3 albums?! :wtf:

Any time I’m in those KD threads nggas :pacspit: at the mere notion these are anything but flawless albums. Something ain’t addin up
I don't think that Nas was rapping like that until KD3. So Magic was like an appetizer to that. Maybe this one is an appetizer for the next one? Also hardcore rapping doesn't mean a project isn't good or whatever

I‘m more excited for this than I was KD3. This is unreal!
I love the MAGIC series
Me too man, there's something about those album covers already... It's like he's taking time out of his regular discog/career to drop something for the core fans. And it's not just a quick ass mixtape, it's real dope albums with a complete thought process. Who else does that?

How the fukk does Nas have the time to make all these albums. Been on tour loads and it seems all the music is made in the studio with Hit. Work ethic is crazy.

And what’s crazy is nothing average to bad really. There’s the odd song that’s just OK to me (mostly some of the collab songs) but generally quality been incredible for 50+ joints

Didn't realize this was confirmed :ehh:

Some people don't pay attention to new release dates because they are so turned off by current music.

Releases like this get overlooked as a result.

I worked with a guy from NY who said that Nas was his absolute favorite rapper. He didn't even know about the first Magic release.....this was about a month in.
