Good album. Nothing more nothing less. Solid 4 mic album.

In basketball perspective

KD1- reached conference finals- 4 mics
KD2- reached nba finals- 4.5 mics
Magic- won the chip- 5 mics
KD3- repeated- 5 mics
Magic 2- flamed out in the conference finals- 4 mics.
The fact that they haven’t dropped anything less than a 4 is wild. Nas is the goat

Man straight up ANNIHILATED Office Hours.

50 should’ve just said “Let me be the hype man” because Nas was in the ZONE with that one
I think in theory the 50 cent was a good idea. 50 just didn’t execute on his part, which could have made the song bigger. I think if Nas and his team is very strategic with his feature choices if there is another project it could work.

I think "Slow it Down" is another one of those songs. One of the songs from the Hit-Boy era that should be highlighted for how great it is in the years to come. :wow:

Also, part of me wishes they saved "The Tide" for this album and made it the bonus track instead of "One Mic, One Gun." That song is disgusting.

Slow It Down is a vintage Nas track. If it appeared as some unreleased Nas song produced by a legendary producer people would be clamoring over it.

That's a great way to look at it. It sounds like the end of a long day, when you're on the train at night and all you want is to go home. That "Foul Breeze," "Deja Vu" sound.

I really feel like we're getting songs on these albums that would have never left the studio if this was 2003 Nas or 2013 Nas. "Rare," "Car #85," "Beef," "Speechless," this song. They all sound like songs that could have been on The Lost Tapes (either version).

I think my favorite lines from the song might be "Now I hold meetings over cold sake and Kobe beef/Hockey jersey, a hoodie underneath." Nas is great at saying something simple and making it sound like the coolest thing you ever heard. Now you can picture him arranging a business deal at the Russian Tea Room wearing a Devils jersey. :wow:

Great breakdown. You are correct about slow it down. I think some people are more caught up on who is producing the song more so than the song itself. For some reason they have bias against hit boy so they go into the project already complaining that the song is fully produced by hit boy that they miss out on how great this combo is. Hit boy gave Nas Speechless, store run, moments, the truth, car 85, ultra black, blue Benz, nobodyc, Thun, Michael and quincy, slow it down, pistols on my album cover etc… that is classic Nas sound and then turned around and gave Nas bounce and lady records replace me, spicy, 27 summers, all bad, rare, 40 side, 30, reminisce, black magic, abracadabra, motion, bokeem woodbine, earving magic Johnson. This run has literally touch every piece of the fan base and some people are still ungrateful. If I’m Nas i continue to do what I want and the real ones will ride. The only thing I think is missing and it has some elements the run has missed so far is features from larger mainstream artist of today that can help propel the sales some ie, drake, Kendrick, Cole, sza etc. but that isn’t a knock for me.
