Nas - Magic 2 (Discussion thread)

Something getting cooked up with Nas and Hitboy, first it was a clip of Alchemist being in the studio with them and no sound, now it's Da Baby in there with no sound.

Nas and Hit are ALWAYS cooking. He said by the time Magic 2 dropped he’d be halfway through the next one. The man is possessed.


Probably trying to get as much done as possible before he heads back on the Wu tour next month.

Not only is he a worst rapper than all those mentioned(bar maybe Kodak) but he would generate far less streams also, but it what it is.

Da baby actually streams really well. He can rap to honestly. Sometimes when he goes too commercial is where he gets repetitive.

Yea Nas seems like he’s in that mode where he wants artists to pull up and zone out in the studio so whatever is cooked up is organic. You ain’t getting J.Cole, Kendrick or Drake to pull up nowadays, not because thy don’t fukk with Nas but because obviously they’re stars themselves with their own busy schedules. Cole and Kendrick both seem very insular nowadays and probably only pull up if its one of their own artists and everything else is emailed back and forth. Drake is on tour and probably finishing up his own album. A lot of features these days aren’t done as actual collaborations and I think Nas wants to collaborate.

I know if i’m not mistaken Lauryn Hill pulled up to record Nobody for KD2. Charlie Wilson pulled up (There’s footage of him in the studio with Nas) Mario pulled up. 50 emailed his verse in and we all see how THAT turned out

I think a j cole, Drake or Kendrick has to happen at some point. I really feel like Nas is in the mode to do records he has never really done before. In particular, stadium records like 30 add something to his show. 27 summers, motion, abracadabra, earving magic Johnson. I think Nas is definitely adding some to his discography that can be played in different environments.
