Nas - Magic 2 (Discussion thread)

Same here to an extent, I still think it's a pretty good album but yeah, feeling this the least out of all the Hitboy jawns 100%. Nas stepped it up with the bars too so it's really wild that the music didn't step up with him.

Albums are getting redundant imo, that's why I wanted him to go in with some different producers...get some different energy/sounds poppin. Hitboy hasn't done anything wrong, just let him go sit on the bench for like 3 minutes and knock down some Gatorades and get rehydrated and all that, lol. Get some fresh legs in there. Like I said when I heard it, it's too cruise control-y, like they're on auto-pilot madd laxed, lol.

"Motion" might be my favorite song to bump out of everything they've done tho tbh, I can't ever imagine myself getting tired of playing that shyt in the gym, for real. Slow it Down is fire. Pistols is fire. Couple more dope joints.

Read between the lines Magic series supposed to be a gift to feed the core fans without much fanfare. They just executed at such a high level on the first one, it ended up being the best project they done together

There's six songs on here I really like though. And the rest are decent. I appreciate tracks like Abracadabra and Black Magic for being unexpected and unlike other songs they done together

“Magic being the best that they done” ehh I don’t know kd3 has that title in my opinion. Magic 2 is a dope album though. Sonically a majority of Nas core fan base don’t like when Nas tries the modern sound, but when they all bang honestly. Abracadabra, Black Magic , Earvin Magic Johnson.

Yeah I like that Black Magic and Abracadaba. Some different sounds and flows. That sample on Black Magic fire.

Something that could appeal to everyone when you look at the whole run.
