But the weekly numbers were still weak breh :mjlol:

But but but…

The fact is that every Nas/Hit Boy album has outsold every single Alchemist/Insert Rapper album. Every metric you can verifiably pull up points towards Nas and Hit Boy being, not only a winning paring, but a CONSISTENTLY winning pairing above and beyond anything Alchemist has done on his own. If we’re talking sales numbers, which YOU brought up. Nas and Hit Boy might as well be Michael and Quincy in the 80’s when compared to Alchemist and Freddie Gibbs, or Alchemist and Currensy or Alchemist & Boldy James.

He's one of the greatest producers of all time, and all the top tier producers recognize it publicly. And Nas is his favorite rapper. Saying you want to hear Nas work with a top 10 level producer again is not a diss to Hit Boy. And I'm someone who isn't really that big on the "Nas should work with Alch" wave given the differences in their styles recently. But come on brehs.

Facts, Al slander ain’t it. His run with Boldy alone has been amazing.

Be white and make decent beats. nikkas go crazy for a halfway competent white person in black dominated spaces
Ur wildin. Alc is that nikka white boy or not. And he earned his hype. Wholeheartedly. And the only reason he does more underground shyt is cause he CHOSE to go back and do that rather than the mainstream shyt. He was getting mainstream placements right before he decided to step back into the underground scene. Alc’s shyt is fly and dope. That nikka could be purple for all I care. He’s a vet who has plenty of mainstream and underground classics to his name.

Literally EVERYTHING your saying about Alchemist can be attributed to Hit Boy. EVERYTHING. And Hit Boy’s mainstream peak was HIGHER than Alchemist’s.

Alchemist is good. But we’re not going to sit here and act like the Alchemist nut hugging going on in THIS thread is because he’s truly some top 5 all time producer. He’s not. He’s not an innovator, he’s not transcendent, he’s a student of RZA/Havoc and makes beats evocative of what fans loved about the 90’s street sound. And thats good, I don’t HATE Alchemist. I actually think It Never Ends from Lost Tapes 2 is one of the best songs on the album. But again, if posters are going to argue that Alchemist could produce a better album for Nas than Hit Boy based off of both of their past 5 years of output, with very little to ZERO proof to back it up, their doing so disingenuously and are either hyping him up because they’re fascinated by the idea of a white producer being able to evoke a black created sound or they’re trolling. Simple.

Like seriously, somebody really said Alchemist was an A+ producer while Hit Boy was B-Tier. If that ain’t some white man worshipping BULLshyt i don’t what is

Not only is he on some of the most important underground records of the last decade, like Reloaded, he's also been on some of the biggest mainstream albums, like DAMN. He's given up publishing just to get tracks on albums for the homies. He's the man. And a huge Nas stan. Just last week I saw him on twitter answering questions and when asked about studio sessions he was in when a classic track was created he mentioned Nas Is Like and Made You Look.

No one is nut hugging Alchemist, people are simply naming producers they love and who they'd happen to love seeing Nas work with again. I don't think Alch v Hit Boy debates are worthwhile but if we must: Alchemist is one of the 10-12 best producers of all time, Hit Boy isn't. Pretty simple argument. And while Hit Boy has a classic record like nikkas In Paris..Alchemist has more classic records. And if we keep it even more of a buck...he has better records with Nas than Hit Boy does.
:manny:

No disrespect to Hit Boy or what he's accomplished but Alch is a LEGEND.

I’m not comparing Al to HitBoy tho. I fukk with ALL of Nas’ and HitBoy shyt. And outside of Nas. And some HUGE records Hit has done. Al has been FAR more important to the hip hop landscape from 2000 up until now. Alotta nikkas was hating on the fact that Hit was doing the album for Nas. I was one of the nikkas who had faith in it. Alotta nikkas was shytting on the KD1 track listing and didn’t even believe it was real. Including u. I was one of the FEW nikkas on here that flat out said the shyt was real. This is not a Hit Boy vs Al thing. But u dead ass tried to diminish Al as a producer and his accomplishments to his skin color and that just wasn’t a fair statement. U may not be a big fan of his stuff. But that nikka shyt has been a big part of my music listening for over 20 years now. I can run down all the classic tracks he’s done even in the mixtape tape era when he was giving shyt like Say Yes to Saigon or when he had everyone from Dipset to Lloyd Banks rapping over the Backwards beat he blessed Mobb Deep with. Son deserves every bit of respect he gets.

Al is one of the GOATS and I’m not doing this Hit Boy vs Al thing but I didn’t appreciate the disrespect son is getting like he ain’t earn his stripes just cause he’s a white boy. Let’s get it straight. A white boy gave Nas his big break as an artist. nikkas need to cut that type of shyt out.
