Literally EVERYTHING your saying about Alchemist can be attributed to Hit Boy. EVERYTHING. And Hit Boy’s mainstream peak was HIGHER than Alchemist’s.
Alchemist is good. But we’re not going to sit here and act like the Alchemist nut hugging going on in THIS thread is because he’s truly some top 5 all time producer. He’s not. He’s not an innovator, he’s not transcendent, he’s a student of RZA/Havoc and makes beats evocative of what fans loved about the 90’s street sound. And thats good, I don’t HATE Alchemist. I actually think It Never Ends from Lost Tapes 2 is one of the best songs on the album. But again, if posters are going to argue that Alchemist could produce a better album for Nas than Hit Boy based off of both of their past 5 years of output, with very little to ZERO proof to back it up, their doing so disingenuously and are either hyping him up because they’re fascinated by the idea of a white producer being able to evoke a black created sound or they’re trolling. Simple.
Like seriously, somebody really said Alchemist was an A+ producer while Hit Boy was B-Tier. If that ain’t some white man worshipping BULLshyt i don’t what is
