On first listen I ranked this the lowest, about a week later I think I might rank it second to KD3 only

I do think MAGIC is slightly more consistent, but Magic II reaches higher highs for me.

I think KD3 is the apex. No features, no skippables, concepts, different styles etc that shyt is a masterpiece.

because Life we chose, Last Words, Project Windows, Come get me, Family, Shoot em up the highs on Nastradamus is better than HHID. I don't like HHID much if at all. Besides Nasir it is my least listened to Nas album

Yep. Everyone is saying the same thing, over and over and over again. Yet somehow theres still dudes in denial

You can’t have classic albums with no SOUL. No personal shyt. That’s what’s missing. Hit does not bring it out of him. Hit mirrors the dudes of his era (some in these threads) that DON’T want that, call it ‘sleep inducing’. Ie, how many times in these 5 albums hs Nas mentioend his son?? I mean I’d expect a whole song but I can’t even recall a mention. The production doesn’t evoke it.

So that’s what a ‘missing’ is you can almsot feel Hit/Nas are scared to have a slow/somber music. Case in point look how Hit ends the albums. Usually the last song is the super personal track the slow/somber track. This ngga ends it with Nas and 21 Savage. KD 1 it’s Spicy. He/they scared new age fans will call it boring. Nas didn’t become possible goat bc of his shyt talking. 5 albums of Nas talkin fly is not stickin to the ribs

This is false. You obviously haven't listened to the albums. There's a lot of personal lyrics throughout the KD series. Nas is talking about personal experiences throughout the KD series and a lot of it isn't just fly talk. Much of KD1 was about relationships with women. KD2 had "Death Row East", which was himngoing back through the Pac beef and reconciliation. There's songs like "Moments". He revistis relationships on the Charlie Wilson song. Nas gets personal on "Composure". "Nobody" isn't fly talk. On KD3, we got "Recession Proof" where he raps the story he told on Breakfsat Club about Jungle. There's "Serious".

Nas rap about deep content shyt = people saying he too preachy.

He have fun over Hit Boy beats = its missing soul. He dont mention Knight.

Nastradamus is just wayyyyyyyyyy too uneven for me. Hip Hop Is Dead not only is a great album its got some of Nas most inspired production. Scott Storch, Will I Am, Kanye and Dre LACED that album and L.E.S made an EPIC beat for Nas and Jay to have they’re first (and best) collab.

NO album with Big Girl and Nastradamus (single) can be better than HHID

I like 3 songs on that list MOB Still Dreaming Black Republican was cool kinda a let down. I think I just higher expectations for the album. Just overall wasn't what it could've been imo
