Dude wrote a song in reverse, made a kids joint of Fur Elise, Made a club joint mentioning slavery, did a jazz joint with his pops, made a whole reggae album with Jr Gong and this dude talking about Nas talks about the same thing :deadrose:

Also I'm a resident of :flabbynsick: Gardens

Damn straight I wanna hear back in day stories about G Rap and Nas recording Fast Life gone off OE. Why wouldn't I? :dahell:

He's talked about everything from being a little kid to being a young rapper to current politics to concept tracks to just talking shyt to recent relationships and business deals on these albums

I never heard him talk about recording Fast Life or the Car 85 stories or the Death Row East stories before so I'm cool hearing the details in a song.

Of all rappers to complain about talking the same shyt in all the time, you chose Nas? :why:

Car 85 was definitely new... never heard that mentioned in any Nas joint before that. Also didn't know Nas had Jaundice as a baby until Composure.

we're 100% getting new stuff in this music whether that's concept tracks, specific stories or certain themes. But yeh there's always going to be some repetition as when you've done as much music as Nas there's gonna be some shyt that is very similar . But if you take different approaches then you can keep it fairly fresh which I think Nas does well

There's a few songs that yeh are a bit too similar to other songs in the run like What This All Really Means does feel like a rehash of previous songs on this run. But to me it's still sounding good enough to not care it's a little repetitive .

I do feel though there is a bell curve to any run like this. Where Nas and Hit will need to pause, give some space to think of new shyt. Otherwise the feeling of repetition will start to happen

I love the reflective shyt Nas does. I do however also appreciate when Nas gets a concept and sticks with it for the entire song. You can tell that his Penn was focused and he never strays off on a freestyle tangent.

Lupe's voice and cadence is crazy annoying to me. His overall style is just ehh. Great lyricist, though.
Lupe the greatest lyricist ever by a lot to me but I always hated his voice too…and his cadences always mirrored Jayz’s too much, that annoyed me too, so I hear you. With age his voice has become way less annoying tho, check some of his newer stuff, he’s way less high pitched.

Like homie said tho, Lupe admits he’s an obedient student of Nas so I don’t think he’d ever rate himself over Nas in anything. He’s a Nas and Jayz student but Jayz is his Dad…Nas his Uncle.

I wonder why Nas never threw Lupe on a record, he’s mentioned him being amazing more than a few times. Lupe would hop on anything Nas tells him to, for free, lol.

Lupe texted Nas to to an EP and Nas never responded lol.

Lupe talks about all the time when he hops on IG live. He says Nas is the only artist he’d do a full length project with

Yeah, I keep up with all his albums and always give his work a listen.

I'm not sure why nothing came from them hanging in the studio. According to him, Nas said "so what we doing?", but nothing came of it.

Yup. It was some weird shyt and Nas left him on read. Lol. Why would he think it would be a good idea to do a joint EP based on his dead friend?

Yea if memory serves thats what Lupe pitched to him. I remember @spliz clowned Lupe for coming to Nas with that idea. Nas and Amy were close and I don’t think Lupe ever met her. Its kind of wild to do a tribute to someone’s good friend if you NEVER knew them.

The audacity to text Nas that is disrespectful. He would never text Jay and suggest such a thing lol

I dunno how y'all deal with this. Nas done put out the same album 5 times in 2 years and y'all love it. Maybe it's me because it all comes across as "Remember when?" rap and it was cool for a while but, 5 albums of it in a short period of time is ALOT. Like rapping about sitting with Kool G Rap and drinking Old E's in 2023 is WILD.

Maybe if he rhymed more ,about how brown his a$$hole is , he'd be more relevant to the youth

Describing your exit region in 2023 IS NOT WILD
