Nas STAN since '96, decorated veteran of the Jigga and Dipset wars, own multiple physicals of most of his albums and a bunch of merch. Been to Nas concerts everytime he came through the Netherlands and once in Germany.

I ain't doing none of that, I play it how I want when I want and will cop the physical and merch. Too old for this shyt.

You spelled me to a T

Except I been rocking with dude since 94

Some people just don't like him over that type sound. I know a couple of people love those last 3 joints but hate Magic Johnson Abracadabra
I could completely understand if he sounded bad over those beats haha .

The Shadows
Gave it a few listens. My least favorite out the 5 so far but still got a few joints I’ll be spinning. Going to make a mix of all my favorite records from each album.

If you so called love Nas, He's your goat or a goat, you're still interested in his new music n feel he's still putting out quality work n you still enjoy the music, but you only listen through YouTube,
IMHO.... you're a certified goofball

I support my favorite artists by buying their work... especially when they're giving me quality. N the price is so low. It's the least I can do.

There's pride in owning a great piece of "art"
(certainly existed in the record tape n cd era)

Again, just my opinion

Off the subject a bit, but is "I Am" not considered great by the average Nas fan? I understand what it could have been with a double disc, no leak, etc, but the actual album released I have always considered excellent and surprised to see it not regularly ranked amongst his best in fans' lists.
NY SOM II, Hate me Now, Small World, Favor for a Favor, and We will Survive is a hell of way to kick start an album.
I hated it in real time then and I hate it now. Felt like I got hit with the okie doke after hate me now. The production ranged from mid to trash…but undying love might be the best written hiphop song ever in life. I wonder if the source got a different version of this album to review due to the bootlegging? I’m still kinda mad I spent 25 on that shyt.

Exactly. Every fan should buy the album. It’s literally 9.99

Nas is my Goat but saying he recently dropped 2 classics is bugging. None of these 5 albums can stand along side certified classics like Illmatic, It Was Written or Stillmatic. These are solid probably 4.0 Mic projects and Esco definitely is aging gracefully and his flow is still there but let's not get carried away. Honestly I wish he would lock in with another producer. The Hit Boy cat is cool but I always feel something is missing with these projects.
NaStalgia... KD2, 3 and Magic can definitely compete with Stillmatic... and there's nothing as bad as "BraveHeart Party" on any of these projects, even magic 2.

KD3 is at the very least 4.5/5… wouldn’t be mad at anyone saying 5/5. I think it’s a masterpiece

It’s gonna get slighted against those projects cuz those were in the era when Nas was in his commercial and cultural prime…

Rap was evolving and Nas still had the impact to influence the landscape. He was in his 20’s. It isn’t like that now, Nas is an established legacy artist. A hip hop icon.

So the nostalgia and weight of those projects are always going to have an advantage over any newer work he does. But KD3 top to bottom is a top 5 Nas album. Sure it doesn’t have the highs or cultural impact and influence of a Stillmatic, but it’s a more consistently thorough project
