I'm always about learning it's just crazy nowadays I posted it to inform peopleNot everyone wants to stay stuck in the dark ages. There are those who want to learn how to maneuver in the new tech world. Updating your knowledge is always key!
facts. The average Nas fan ain’t even buying the physical and merch…downside of having an older base, it’s not a passion to them like that anymore, the youth are on it like that. Nigs love Nas so they check for it when it drops on YouTube or wherever for free and that’s that.
If Nas sells 20k I can almost assure you that at least 100-200k actually listened to the album…it’s just his base is old so they’re not buying and streaming a million times and all that. I don’t know how everyone doesn’t understand this, . What rapper from 1994 or the 90s period is selling what Nas sells outside of Eminem (because he’s white)? Snoop doesn’t sell what Nas sells when he drops. Etc… None of them. Jay-z will but we know why, lol.
This man gets it, 🫡 to you.For sure. These run up the streams things are hilarious. 40 year olds with jobs and families don't got time for that shyt
Nas album promo is a couple Instagram posts and a video or two at some point dude obviously not stressing like that over the numbers, just relax and enjoy the music (or don't)
Oh so now reviews from mainstream publications matterKDIII was the most acclaimed rap album of 2022.
Same. I'm still not getting over Nas' flow. But Hit's production is surprising me. It took some time for me to get my ears adjusted but it's still starting to really hit.Album is getting better and better for me.
Neither is Asap Rocky using that example or Asap Ferg.
Point is they’re still 3 of the most relevant artists of this generation with the sales to back it up.
Nas STAN since '96, decorated veteran of the Jigga and Dipset wars, own multiple physicals of most of his albums and a bunch of merch. Been to Nas concerts everytime he came through the Netherlands and once in Germany.
I ain't doing none of that, I play it how I want when I want and will cop the physical and merch. Too old for this shyt.
Nas Remains A Lyrical Wizard But Hit-Boy Could Use Some New Tricks On 'Magic 2'
HipHopDX brings you the Nas Magic 2 album review which was released on Friday, July 21, 2023. The dynamic duo deliver more good boom bap, but the formula could use a little tweakinghiphopdx.com
3.8/5 was their score
i agree. it is crazy but that’s the times we are in. we have to know how to operate in this time. i don’t like the streaming process bc i truly think it’s a rigged game but its either get with it or get left behind. unfortunately, any artist creating music today needs their fan base to be somewhat knowledgeable about the streaming space.I'm always about learning it's just crazy nowadays I posted it to inform people
That song was great and the best thing on that album. The streams are just reflecting thstThat’s the mr Kanye west impact on that album. His fan base is massive and they support everything he is apart of. Nas killed that song though so it is well deserved.
Ok I've bumped it about 4 times straight through headphones and whip. I like it. Its good but certainly not great
Abracadabra - I was surprised people were so so on this one at first. I loved this. Great opening. Fire beat
Office hours- Dope. 50 was trash but I still liked this track despite 50s verse not being good he still adds a good feel to the song
Black Magic - ehh didn't grab me. Not bad but not great. Im playing it now as the album is new. A couple months from now I think I'll be skipping this
Motion - Flames. Probably my fav track. Nas is in his pocket. That beat is fantastic. I didn't mind the hook. That 2nd verse
Bookem Woodbine - I probably stand alone on this one but this didn't grab me. Not bad but just not for me
Earvin Magic Johnson - Also didnt grab me.
What this all really means - i didn't like the start of the beat or during the hook but during the verses I love the beat. Nas does his thing lyrical. This is good
Slow it down- Flames. The beat the bars and the feel. It all comes together beautifully. My 2nd fav song next to Motion
Pistols on your album cover - solid closer. Noty fav closer from the series but its good
One mic one gun - cool moment when it dropped but never liked the song
Overall its a solid album but not mind blowing. I personally think he should stay with Hit but they should take a break. If this album came out next year I think it be recieved better. I still had KD3 in rotation. Just like all the other releases. I was still listening to KD2 when Magic dropped. They got away with it cause each release has either gotten better or been on par with the previous. Didn't happen here but still a very good album.
About a 7 /10 for me.
