"I'm a carnivore, constantly come with concepts to pay me
I'm responsible for they most cockiest behavior
My DNA in they G'd up ways, and they surveying us
Showed em my scrotum is goldеn, rap game stomach was swollen
I left thеse b*stards on your doorsteps, behold em"

The Nasir cover is dope but Kanye just jacked it off the same folk he jacked the Adam and Eve sample from. Everything about that project is tainted.
That Myth has been debunked already! Kanye didn’t steal their idea. That same exact picture was also used by producer August Fanon 6 years prior to Architect who claims Kanye stole it from him. August & Architect are both from Texas underground hip hop scene! That sample also has been used before like 80% of all hip hop samples!

Imagine if Andre 3K linked with Metro Boomin and Metro got him so inspired he put the flutes away and actually stepped into the booth and knocked out FIVE ALBUMS in 3 years.

And nikkas asked why Dre ain’t working with Organized Noize.

And then some demanding he work with Mr. Collipark

They’d be laughed out of The Booth.
Listen if Andre 3000's Peruvian flute album is not executive produced by WSG and Fat Joe, I'm gonna smash my phone to pieces :troll:

I’ve been listening to some of these “great” Alchemist collab alums these nikkas have been raving about and none of them come close to Magic or KD 3 series. None.

I have alot more to say about Alchemist beats, but I don’t want to conjure up their anger and derail the thread. Maybe I’ll start a different thread on Alchemist.

“constantly come” (cum)
“Cockiest” behavior
“DNA”
“Scrotum”
“Stomach was swollen” (pregnant)
“B*stards” on your doorstep

Young parents would leave their unwanted or illegitimate children (b*stards) on strangers doorsteps before major adoption was a thing! Nas saying he responsible for all these youngings in the rap game!

I AM ranked below HHID???:dead::dead::dead::dead:

This might be a hot take, but HHID is an easier album to listen to than I Am. It's just that I Am has some of Nas' best songs, and is a lot more important for his legacy, so that's why it's ranked higher.

I feel like people only talk about HHID because of the title and "Who Killed It," which always bothers me because there are some really underrated songs on it ("Money Over Bullshyt," "Hold Down the Block," "Still Dreaming," "Can't Forget About You") and "Where Y'all At" is one of the best bonus tracks in Nas' career.

Quick thoughts:

I felt like Nas & Hit were too much in cruise control on first listen, it felt like a solid project overall

On second listen, album hit harder...can't pinpoint what changed but the album is cohesive & thematic

I don't want Nas to go back to the grimey 90s style bc he's been there & done that...so I don't want a Preemo project...I also don't want a full Alchemist project, just 1 or 2 tracks on a project from him, that's it

Nas voice isn't as sharp as it was on KD2, Magic & KD3...could be a product of so much recording & touring

Also, I do think Hit could use some additional production to add that umph from a Timbo...the way Kanye used Tim to help with the drums on Graduation

I didn't get the highs of KD2, KD3 and Magic...this is just a consistent body of work, nothing more nothing less

I do like that this project is different than the others & Nas gives the ppl variety...it's something for everyone in his catalogue

Album is an 8/10 for me on this third day

Hip Hop Is Dead is a great album that got a little bit overrun by the hype of the title and the discourse surrounding if the South was to blame for “killing” Hip Hop (which Nas didn’t intend) Your right is a more consistent listen than I Am. Its also interestingly enough Nas most diverse album from a production standpoint SINCE I am.
