This is pretty dope off the initial few listens. I DO LIKE what 50 did on this album. I thought his verse was dope and he brought new energy to the track.
Nas albums are like Kendrick albums -- you have to sit down and digest them to a certain degree. I thought Magic 1 was "cool" at first but the more i sat on it, i fell in love with it...just like Damn and Morale/Big Steppers. Neither Artist relies on beats and hooks to carry their projects.
Abracadabra, Pistols on Your Album Cover, Black Magic is vintage Nas and Slow it Down makes you bawl up your face real ugly and bob your head to it - I didn't want that song to end.
I really think Hit Boy A&R these albums that they do together and Nas just focuses more on going in the booth and doing what he does best, which is a great thing.
Hit Boy will go down in history and Nas' #1 Producer and his best Producer which is ironic being he from California.
Nas giving Rappers the blueprint of how to make Adult Contemporary Hip Hop that correlates with your age when you get up their in age and have made the money and you don't have the pressure of big labels and album sales making you compromise your art.
